This has been in operation since the 1800s. The food is very good, the atmosphere is rustic and authentic for the period and the food is great. Definitely worth a visit.

No redeeming qualities to mention whatsoever. The crowd was dead and the staff incredibly rude. There are easily 6-8 better establishments within a five minute walk of here.

We found this old fashioned ale house, we loved everything about it. Service was great, food was very good. We got the wings and Philly steak.

We went here on a Friday night and the pub was loud and lively! Our food--fish and chips and a cheese steak--were very good, and the craft beers were excellent. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. The pub was all dressed for Halloween, and we enjoyed the noisy ambiance. Great historical place to go in Philly!

The oldest pub in Philly dating to the 1860's certainly must be a stop among all of Irish descent. One can almost imagine the new arrivals into America finding a taste of home here.

We had a few craft drinks and a basket of fresh cut fries and enjoyed the seasonal decor, cozy ambiance and friendly waitresses. All the food looked delicious!

When downtown, trace your Irish roots straight to this charming taste of history.
