“Did not live up to the hype”

Visted this made famous bar from the always sunny tv show, and while the place was great my experience was not. The bartender (katie) gave very below average service and it was completely unexceptable. even when asking for the beer list, she acted as if I was being rude to have to ask for it.

“classic dive bar”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 April 2014

What a great dump! I mean that in the most flattering way... Saw it on a bus tour, and heard it was the inspiration for the bar in IASIP... The door was open, so we went in... Tiny place, decent beer, and the bartender, Jessica, is a fellow soccer fan... She gave us some great leads on other bars in Philly... Thanks, Jessica! Want a simple beer and a shot without attitude and pretentious poseurs? THIS is the place!

“A Piece of History”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 December 2013 via mobile

While on business in Philly, I had time to check out a must spot. Grabbed a cab and headed down to Paddy's. The locals and bartender were great. It's such an old school bar, that you can still smoke in there. I was by myself and managed to have a great time. If i ever head back East, I will grab another couple beers at Good Olé Paddy's Pub. The original spot of, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

“Local Pub”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 November 2013

First let's say this is a smoking bar. It's definitely a place for locals, and unpretentious visitors. If you are looking for a quiet spot to have a drink. This is not for you. If you want to take in some local hospitality than stop in for a drink or 2. Apparently, it is rumored that the pub in the show It's always Sunny in Philadelphia is based off Paddy's Old City Pub. It's located on Race street .When looking for it, be aware that it is small and only has a few neon lights in the window. Certainly not a flashy place
I was not able to stay because of the smoke, ( which I was well aware of, so that wasn't a surprise) but I was able to purchase a six pack for the road, which was kinda cool. So we grabbed a six pack for enjoyment back at the room.
