“Great history of Ben”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 April 2014

When you enter the courtyard you are greeted by steel skeletons of the original buildings. Excavated areas show remains of a pit privy and kitchen foundation. On my first visit I was surprised to find a large underground museum with a displays of Franklins accomplishments and his many inventions.

“Not My Favorite”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 April 2014

While I liked the concept of this muesum, I really didn't love it. It might be better for small children as there were a lot of things you could touch. It was only $5 to get in which was nice, but the entire place was rather small and if crowded would be hard to get to things. I was hoping for a little more in depth history on Franklin but it seemed to be more scattered facts. Some of the exhibits were worth a look and I'm not sorry I went, but I wouldn't go back. i would have liked further insight into his family and travels and detailed history but everything was very surface level. Additionally some of the video screens you could touch and play with didn't work very well. After a half hr I had seen everything I wanted to see.

“Very interactive for kids”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 April 2014

Does a good job of giving you an overview of Benjamin Franklin's life and inventions. There were a lots of opportunities for children to touch items and answer questions about Mr. Franklin.

“One day in Pompeii exhibition”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 April 2014

The Pompeii exhibition was great! They had some amazing artefacts from life in Pompeii. The jewellery, medical devices and gladiator armour made the lives of the people who lived and died in 79 A.D. seem very real and tangible. The pieces of frescoes, sculptures and carved house safes were beautiful. There was a short video to introduce the attendees to Pompeii which was done very well. It will take 1 to 2 hours to view, but if the kids are bored, you could race through it in 1/2 hour, but you'd miss a lot. There are audio kits available to do a self guided tour of the exhibition. They have monitors with short DVD clips of various aspects of live in Pompeii that the kids might sit still to view.
