Lore's Chocolates in Philadelphia is the perfect place to take a small child, if you're feeling indulgent... or yourself, if you're feeling self-indulgent! Chocolate in all shapes and sizes await when you need to make an offering to your inner "goddess of chocolate." Holidays are especially gorgeous: I visited soon after Easter, when lots of bunnies and eggs, chicks and ducks decorated this rather ornate, old-fashioned store. Lucky children whose parents were in-the-know were able to attend chocolate egg decorating sessions: requires advance reservations. There were still plenty of peanut-butter creme filled eggs there to appease my post-holiday sweet tooth: just my lucky day, 1-lb. boxes were going 2 for 1 after the holiday. Mmmmm! The shop is a short walk from many of Philadelphia's historic attractions: quite close to the pleasant park in Washington Square. Not a place to drive to and park: stop by when you're on a walking tour of the city and you won't be sorry!
