We found this hotel to be very charming. The rooms were nicely decorated, the staff was very friendly and helpful and its location put us within walking distance of all of the things we wanted to see and do. Absolutely would stay here again and recommend to anyone!

Living around the Phila area for 50 years and never been in the city before, so when we had a wedding here we made a weekend trip out of it. The location to all the historical sites was amazing. The hotel was clean, easy parking 1 1/2 block away $16.00 per day walking distance to everything. The staff was pleasant when they saw you, asked how they were doing and if they could make your stay better. I would stay here again.

The pluses are they have kindly staff. they have water and tea in the lobby. Also they have free breakfast. They have elevators. They let you hold your luggage if you want to see some last minute attractions. The minuses are we stayed two night and we switched rooms both nights. Overall great hotel it's right in the middle of everything

Wonderful experience, walking distance to the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. The staff treated us like family. We enjoy American History and staying in a historic hotel put the trip over the top. The bed and the shower were excellent!!

Philly hotels are outrageously expensive. This was a good hotel with an expensive rate...but not too expensive for Philly. Go with low expectations and you will be OK. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES TAKE A CAR HERE. The parking lot for the hotel is blocks away and $16. It is a confusing lot with two identical sides instead of one large oval making it surreal to find your car the next day even though you think you know exactly where you parked it. Interior hallways were dirty although rooms were clean. The rooms are small, so they put the TV cabinet in front of the dresser making it impossible to open the dresser drawers. Ditto on wall outlets...furniture covers them. Good location. The folks are nice. No bedbugs, which is an issue in Philly. I would stay here again but NOT NOT NOT bring a car. Or you might consider staying in a cheaper and much nicer place in the suburbs and training in each morning for tourist activities.

Dear lucym914

Thanks for staying with us at the Best Western Independence Park Hotel. And thanks for your review as well, even if it's not 100% accurate.

First, I am glad that you found us to be a "good hotel" and "not too expensive for Philly". We appreciate these kind words.

However, your comment about parking and telling guests "Do Not Bring a Car" is just not a fair thing to say. The parking lot we suggest is not blocks away, it's around the corner; no more than a 2 or 3 minute walk from our door.

Plus, we offer the discounted deal to our guests of $16 which is valid for both overnight and has unlimited in and out privileges. I think this could be the best parking deal in the city!

As for our rooms, yes some rooms are more intimate, this is common in Historic Hotels. Perhaps next time, you may wish to select one of our larger rooms, there's plenty to choose from!

Nonetheless, we are glad you stayed with us and always welcome guests to share their experiences.

We also support reducing our total carbon footprint, public transportation and a greener cleaner world.

Thanks, please come back soon.

JM

We stayed here for 4 nights and it was the perfect location to see the historic area of Philadelphia. We could walk to any of the sites and were surrounded by great restaurants and shopping. The concierge/ front clerk, Lynn, was exceptional. She mapped out restaurants and local specials that we would not have found on our own. She was spot on with every recommendation and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. This was our first visit to the area and will definitely go back and stay at this quaint boutique hotel. The rooms were comfortable and the breakfast was very good. They also offer tea and cookies in the afternoon, which was nice to come in for after a morning of walking to the various sites.

Room Tip: The rooms on the front have a nice view but the rest face another building. It really wasn't an...

We were very happy with the perfect location and the well-appointed guest room in the Old City Philadelphia. My only complaint was the food for breakfast was pre packaged. For over 250 a night you would think they could do better. The staff was great and the place was small but pretty. The location was all that mattered though. It was only two bocks from Independence hall and all the Old City Attractions. We have a great stay and would stay again.
