The food was really good. The chicken parm is top notch and it is located in a great spot. A little pricey, but highly recommended.

Just stopped in for a bit after visiting Independence Hall - this place has a great location for being near the historical landmarks of Philadelphia. Service was speedy and extremely friendly - everything was amazing.

The office went to LaScala’s for a retirement luncheon for a coworker.
It is conveniently situated in the heart of Center City Philadelphia within walking distance of many of the city’s attractions.
The place has wood walls which are comforting with turn of the century photos filling the wall space.
The pictures are a wonderful touch making the place feel like home.
I especially like one of a new bride and groom in their best attire.
Anyway . . . the place had many customers, a good sign, but not packed so we were able to chat and talk among ourselves.
A full menu is available of Italian specialties, from Eggplant/Chicken/Veal Parmesan to Chicken /Veal Cacciatore to . . . Chicken San Remo, just to start the choices.
We preordered and the family style servings soon arrived.
We started off with two types of salads, followed by Risotto Balls and sausage and Peppers.
I had never had Risotto Balls before and was delighted in what I discovered.
For those who do not know, they are sort of like an Italian version of Hush Puppies.
The main course was Baked Lasagna and Chicken Marsala; more than we could consume and people were asking for containers to take the left overs home.
The afternoon was finished off with Raspberry Cheese Cake and Chocolate Cake and coffee.
The wait staff was helpful and attentive but not pushy or in the way – almost invisible.
The food was wonderful and we all felt we got our money’s worth.

Me and my family were having dinner tonight and i must say it could not have been worse. As I am from Rome I know the italian kitchen very well and what we ate tasted terrible and was not italian at all. And it was extremly expensive! (220 $ for four persons without dessert or wine!) Never ever again.

They have fast service...very fresh and delicious entrees and sandwiches for lunch. Never had a bad meal there and have eaten there at least dozen times.
