I came to Sitar India on a Friday evening. Surprisingly, there was a 5 minute wait. The place was full of local college students, mostly Asian, but also families with and without kids. An older man celebrated his birthday with balloons at the table.
Indian buffets are probably my favorite thing and I was kind of bored with New Delhi restaurant and wanted a change.
This buffet is great! The buffet area is rather small, but plentiful and the dishes are satisfying. There is less variety than at the neighboring New Delhi, but the taste is different and quite exquisite. Naan bread was a little dry, but the the other type of bread was delicious and crispy.
I loved the vegetable mix of potatoes and peas in a creamy sauce, the tiny chicken wings are so tasty that the meat melts in your mouth. Tandori chicken was also a bit dry. Salad bar was good, I liked that they included fresh cut oranges. For dinner you also get unlimited mango juice and for dessert gulab jamun and light pudding with pieces of fruit. The gulab jamuns were DELICIOUS, warm and soaked in honey, a perfect blend of tastes and textures. The pudding was also refreshing. Twelve $ for a dinner is a good price. Don't forget to ask for loyalty card, every 10th meal is free.
The service was good and quick, the restaurant clean and well maintained. There is street parking available, but you have to pay at the kiosk, 2$/hour.
