“Great location, awful service”
Reviewed 19 July 2007

I have never seen such awful service in a hotel. We waited 30 minutes to check in, and we were only the second group in line!

It's such a close walk to everything, so it was worth the bad service and the slightly higher rates. It's 1-5 blocks to all of the gay bars -- this hotel is in what is called the gayborhood ... which means nice restaurants and fun bars. All of the historic sites are walkable, but walk in a group - Philly is rough! The hotel pool is kinda nice to sit at, but kinda green, so we didn't go in.

The room itself was pretty nice - the beds were comfortable, shower was nice, no complaints.

I had a really great time here. Loved the location. No need for a rent car if going to see the historical sights. I was originally charged long distance charges for a few local calls, but they took it off with noproblem. I had asked for the late check out entitled to Priority Club members and they kept calling/coming by to see if I was gone yet during those two hours which was aggravating. Other than that, very helpful, courteous, clean. Had a great time at my first visit in Philly!

We stayed here over Memorial Day weekend and were agreeably surprised. We arrived early from the train station and although we could not check in, the reception staff were very quick to offer to store our luggage and to advise on places to go for lunch. In fact, it is surrounded by restaurants, and is very convenient for the bus around the city. It is also within walking distance of the Historic District so is a convenient location for "doing" the city. Breakfast was also good. The hotel was fully booked when we were there, but there was a good selection of breakfast goodies and never a problem finding a table. Despite the hustle and bustle, the drinks and food containers were kept topped up and the tables cleared and cleaned promptly. Strongly recommended.

I live in the Poconos and when I go to the city I am sometimes aprehensive but upon arrival I was greeted with a friendly and helpful staff. I was going to a concert at the Wachovia center and had been planning to drive there until the front desk clerk reccommended I just take the Subway as it is only $2 to go there and back! I didn't even know Philly had a subway! What a money saver!! Also there are some great restaurants and bars all within 1-2 blocks walk of this hotel. Great place to stay overall!!

Stayed here for two nights with my husband, daughter and mother. Got the AAA rate. We were attending a family wedding on Martha's Vineyard and made a trip out of the event by spending time in New York city and Philadelphia. Enjoyed the vacation in all areas in the USA thoroughly . The room at this hotel was fine. Two double beds with nice linens. Nicely appointed. The room did not have a fridge but this could have been ordered at a charge. There was a swimming pool outdoors but it was closed. The internet access was free which was a nice added feature. Staff were pleasant consistently. The location was excellent. Had to pay for parking. Breakfast which was complimentary was very fine. Buffet style with an array of foods from omelettes which were great. Boiled eggs, fruit, pastries and beverages were available. The breakfast area was clean and pretty. There is a good convenient store opposite the hotel run by Koreans which was very handy. I would recommend this hotel to those who are not snobs and enjoy value for their dollar.

Right in the Middle of the City. We were able to walk everywhere.
The breakfast was filling, and the helpful staff were cleaning and filling up the trays at a fast pace.
The hotel staff were friendly and helpful.
Rooms large and clean.
I would stay here again ,paid 115.oo through AAA.
3 star resturants a couple of blocks away.
Theater and Music venues within blocks.
Shops just on the other side of Broad Street
Easy to hail a cab, or take the public transportation.

This is a nice hotel. The location was great. Within walking
distance to the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. Our room
was clean and spacious. We paid around 115.00 for one
night and thought we got a good deal. We actually liked the
area a lot better than we thought we would. We had read the
area was bland, but we thought it was just fine. We felt pretty safe in the hotel and the surrounding area. We would stay
here again. The AAA rate is awesome. Don't miss the Betsy Ross house. It was a lot of fun.
