We came here thinking this was all new now that it is affiliated with Primavera in the Wilshire Grand down the street. Having been to the previous restaurant, Reggiano's, that used to be in this location and being very annoyed and disappointed with them, we thought we would give La Primavera a try. We had made a reservation, and though we were there early enough that most tables were open, they never asked if we had a reservation. Later we noticed that other customers who said that they had made reservations, particularly a large party, the staff was not ready for and they had to scramble to put tables together. This is a huge issue that we had with the previous restaurant, reservations were completely ignored.
As for the food, it may be associated with Primavera but it is NO Primavera. The food is mediocre to average. The pasta dishes that my table ordered were very dry and lacking sauce/oil, not to mention they also lacked flavor. The only good thing I can say is that the rock shrimp was ALMOST as good as Primavera's.
The decor was kept the same as the last restaurant, save for the removal of the TV on on wall.
We will definitely not be rushing back here any time soon. I would rather go down the street to the real Primavera or to any of the numerous restaurants in Montclair.
