“College Visit”
Reviewed 29 October 2011

Stayed at the Raphael Inn on a whirlwind central PA college mom/daughter tour with my daughter who is a high school senior. George and Alexandra are lovely hosts full of information about the Gettysburg area. The Inn is close to EVERYTHING in Gettysburg. The house is cute and eccentric. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room was quiet even though it faced the street. As soon as they fix the shower head, I will give it a 5.

Raphael Inn is a wonderfully relaxing get away from a hectic world! George, Alex and Heidi allow you to catch your breath in a world of rushing from activity to activity. We stay there whenever we need to catch a weekend with our daughter at Gettysburg College - you can park at the Inn and walk all over Gettysburg and the campus is visible from the front porch! Just this weekend I asked my husband where his favorite B&B of all time is....he choose the Raphael Inn in Gettysburg - you should too!

George, Alexandra and Heidi are the best hosts! We had a two night stay in the Abraham Lincoln room this October. The room was cozy and very clean. We LOVED the porch and spent most of our time lounging there as Gettysburg was very soggy during our visit. George and Alexandra went out of their way to prepare us a super early (delicious and beautiful) breakfast so that we could be on time for our battlefield tour. Our hosts were so knowledgeable about local attractions and restaurants, and they have a wonderful network of resources (If you want an AMAZING battlefield tour ask them about Howard!) Great place to stay if you're looking for a home away from home! -Laura & Michael, Ohio

Room Tip: We LOVE the Abraham Lincoln room because of the porch.

My son and daughter-in-law had stayed at the Raphael Inn last July and just raved about it, so we decided to stay there at the end of August. George and Alexandra (and of course Heidi the Wonder Dog) were amazing. The breakfast's were so delicious and the hospitality was above and beyond. The rooms were charming and very comfortable. We loved our time spent there, and hope to go back someday. It was sooooo much nicer than staying in a hotel!!
Thank you Alexandra and George, and Heidi!

Alexandra and George are wonderful people and perfect hosts. Two friends and I stayed at the Raphael Inn for three nights in early October, 2011. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I have had the opportunity to stay at many B&Bs, both in the United States and in Europe, and have never been treated with more genuine hospitality than here.

The only caveat I would mention is that the three rooms at the Inn are very different one from the others, but they are all full of eclectic and Victorian bric-a-brac. If one prefers a more streamlined, stately decorative look, the rooms may not be to your liking. But it hardly matters. Alexandra and George don't treat you as though you're staying in a room, they treat you as an honored guest in their home. I highly recommend the Raphael Inn and thank them for a great experience.

We stayed two nights at the Raphael Inn. The Inn Keepers are very welcoming and they go out of their way to make sure their guests are comfortable. Our room was comfortable and extremely clean. The breakfasts were delicious and different each day. We will return!
