“This is a must see when you visit Gettysburg and it is free!!!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 February 2012

This was great. I remember studying a lot of the content in school, but it was jaw dropping to see the personal items such as hair, combs, mirrors, eatting utensils, outfits that iconic people from history used. You are able to get right up next to the items and see every bit of detail. It was great. Very extensive. Plus the owner allows you to walk through for free. Please bring a little cash though for a donation at the end, you will really want to give something for this amazing opportunity to go back in time. My husband and I loved it. We will go back again and visit next year. Plus this is where the TV Show that we love American Pickers stoped by, very cool, must see. Who would have thought I would be excited about history?

“100% MUST SEE!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 January 2012

I recently made a trip to Gettysburg and fell in love with the town. By far the most interesting attraction in town was the Gettysburg Museum of History. The museum was featured prominently on a past episode of American Pickers, but the television show didn't even scratch the surface showing off the entire museum. The museum is jam packed with artifacts and historically significant pieces that are sure to amaze even the most seasoned collector. The museums owner Erik, was very helpful assisting me and explaining the history behind several of the museums most unique pieces. I have been home less than 24 hours and I am already planning a return trip within the next month or so. It is also important to note that the museum is FREE!! Free is always good. Thanks again Erik for everything.

“This Museum is GREAT!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 January 2012

We found this place by accident walking down Baltimore Street in Gettysburg.
It has so many different articles, wonderful pieces of our History to look at.
I can't believe it's free.
Can't wait to go back, you could spend hours in there trying to check out everything.

“Awesome artifacts”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 January 2012

The museum is jam packed with some very cool historical artifacts from the civil war era. After viewing the Civil War display your in for a really nice surprise that I did not expect to see at this museum, exhibits from WW1 & WW2, Elvis, and the Kennedy era among others. The displays are well laid out and there are items there you would not have expected to see. If your in Gettysburg this museum is a must see, free admission is a real bonus and you wont mind making a donation as you will receive more than your monies worth!
