Where to begin? The 20 minute presentation about the events leading up to the Civil War is very well done. The oil-on-canvas painting and presentation afterward are just awesome and have to be experienced - words won't do it justice. The museum has LOTS of items, displays, and presentations - you could easily spend a day between the two, and thats before you do a tour of the park.

The center was a museum, book store and restaurant, all of which were well done. I would have like more healthy food choices.

The movie and cyclorama were the best. You could learn a lot just from watching them. The junior ranger and secret service books were fun to do. Very informational and fun for everyone. Thanks for everything!

I did not expect the visitor center to be this great! I mainly went there to get some information about Gettysburg and what to do around town. My husband and I decided to buy the tickets for the museum, cyclorama and short video. It was a good decision. The museum was amazing. I didn't expect it to have as much as it did and be so informative. The short video is narrated by Morgan Freeman and was also very good. The cyclorama was interesting and unique. I enjoyed walking around the room looking at the painting of Pickett's Charge and hearing the story about that day. I would recommend stopping here first to get a good sense of the Civil War and Gettysburg.

We had bought a combo ticket which included the museum, but because of the time spent at the battlegrounds, etc, we were not able to see the museum on that day. The following day we explained this to the man at the entrance and no problem, we were allowed admission. Originally we thought it would be no big deal if we missed this museum. How wrong we were.

This is a wonderful museum which explains in detail the events leading up to the conflict and the battles which took place at Gettysburg. One of the rooms at the beginning allows you to listen to the opinions of both sides, then continues on to the battles. In the connecting rooms, each day's battles are explained in short films. Included in the rooms are artifacts and pictures. The pictures of those young soldiers.....

I could go on, but truthfully, this is a must see. We spent an hour here, but could easily spend two. If given the opportunity, I will go back. The exhibition ends on a powerful note. If you make it to Gettysburg, don't pass on the museum.
