“Very comfortable and great location”

My husband and I were looking for a getaway to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and we hit the jackpot with the Irene Danner Suite. The innkeeper, Jeannine, was very attentive and the muffins and fresh fruit in the room made a delicious breakfast. There is a little kitchenette including refrigerator, stove top, microwave, oven and dishwasher. The gas fireplace rounded it all out to never having to leave the room! However, the ideal location in the center of town meant that walking to dinner, shops and even to church was easy. Jeannine made us reservations for a car tour of the battlefield and our driver and guide, Joe, could not have been better! There was even a fife and drum concert outside our window on Saturday night! Gettysburg has a lot to see and we plan to go back and take the kids. There is a townhouse in the back of the Inn which I saw that looks lovely and will accommodate the family.

What a wonderful special weekend get-away in the heart of downtown historic Gettysburg! We had previously stayed in the 3rd floor Annie Danner suite and were hoping to stay in the same suite, but it was booked by another party. But fortunately, the second floor suite known as the Irene Danner suite was available. While we looking forward to the rustic, cozy nature of the Annie Danner suite with its exposed brick and warm pine wood accents, we were equally impressed with the more sophisticated decor of the second floor Irene Danner suite. The decor of the Irene Danner suite was very elegant and the amenities were fabulous - plus the gas fireplace added a nice touch and charm. The staff at the Inn were fabulous - they warmly greeted us and took extra care to make sure that we got settled into the suite. We truly enjoyed our experience. Everything that we wanted to do was a stones throw away and when we were in the confines of our suite, it was a cozy little haven. We would do it again in a heartbeat!

My husband and I stayed at the Inn at Lincoln Square and were very disappointed for the cost of our stay. We stayed in the Annie Danner room which is really an old converted attic space with very low ceiling beams. My husband who is 6 feet tall found it very claustrophobic and we would not recommend this room to anyone tall. The inn sits right on the main downtown square which does make restaurants and shops easy to walk to, but the noise and traffic was unbearable all day and all night long! The Annie Danner room actually overlooks this busy circle of relentless traffic and the inn sits right on the busy sidewalk with foot traffic noise and right on the busy downtown square with all of the auto, bus, truck and motorcycle traffic so we did not get any sleep! For breakfast we had fruit and a muffin from the day before and they only offer this continental breakfast. For the cost of a night, being a bed and breakfast you would think a breakfast is included in the $250.00 a night rate, but it is not . We were very disappointed and do not recommend this inn to anyone.

I cannot add much to what others have said. We booked last minute as we wanted to get away from the construction across the street at the Gettysburh Hotel while visiting the College. It was a pleasant surprise! Jeannine was amazing, accommodating and very helpful. Within minutes she had made warm muffins, and then provided fresh fruit. She was very helpful throughout our stay, and we made reservations to return! We stayed in the winter, and therefore the ac window units were not in the windows. The room on the first floor main building was spacious, with a kitchen, beautiful bath, period feel furnishings and artwork. Lamps were kept low for ambiance which worked well. There are cable and wireless. We felt as though we were renting a private room in a residence, a much different feel from other hotels in Gettysburg. Private parking behind the Inn was a surprise. We recommend it highly! Great location and access.

Room Tip: There are two main rooms/suites. 1st floor is a spacious romantic suite with easy access to the squa...

The Inn at Lincoln Square is a gorgeous retreat! It is centrally located to all of the historical sites around Gettysburg. Our room was amazing, and the special treats Jeannine left for us were thoughtful and much appreciated. I highly recommend this inn to anyone wanting to explore the sites of Gettysburg or plan a romantic getaway.

The Inn at Lincoln square has certainly done the two of us well. A big thanks to Gregg for carrying our bags to the third floor as well as guiding us to the local fare, and historical attractions of Gettysburg. We could never have learned and covered as much in a weekend if it were not for his knowledge and personal enthusiasim of the area. The top of the stairs suite (attic) holds the perfect old world rustic intrigue with just the right amount of modern charm and amenities to make for a truly romantic and relaxing stay. Auf Weidersehn in 2013!

Room Tip: Hot fireplace in the first floor suite would be a great feature for any travelers returning from the...

We stayed at the Inn at Lincoln Square for our 5 year anniversary, and a very relaxing (and quiet!) respite from our children, who are 2 and 1.

I can not say enough great things about our stay! Our amazing experience with the Inn started before we even arrived. We actually booked very last minute (the morning we planned on arriving) and Greg, the Inn's manager, personally called and told me that he was very sorry he could not be there to greet us (he had a scheduled dr's appt), but that his assistant Jeannine would be there. He even texted me her number so I could call if there were any problems along the way. Jeannine called us about an hour before we arrived, told us to travel safely, and asked us to call as we were approaching the square so she could guide us to parking, which she did. She gave us a tour of the room and also told us the history of the Inn, which was great. There was a wonderful basket of fresh fruit and muffins waiting, and the Keurig had a great variety of coffee. When I inquired about tea she immediately went downstairs and came up with k-cups of tea for me. We asked her about shuttle service to the Eisenhower farm, which she wasn't sure about, but assured us she would find out and get back to us. When we returned from dinner we were greeted by Greg. Greg was so warm, friendly, and immediately made us feel at home. He had the shuttle times for the farm printed out, as well as additional information for the area. Because we were staying mid-week and no one else had booked the room for the following night, he told us to enjoy ourselves, sleep in, and not worry about the check out time. We were floored, and very grateful!

The room itself (Irene Danner suite, 2nd floor) was very spacious (about 750 square feet) and very clean with a king sized poster bed, sofa, chair with ottoman, and kitchenette complete with fridge, microwave, keurig, and full stove. The bathroom had a shower and double sink. The gas fireplace was a wonderful touch, and because the house is very old it was just chilly enough that we slept very comfortably with it on the entire night (also it added to the romantic atmosphere!) The windows in the room overlook Lincoln Square and the front door to the Inn opens directly to the Square (you can't beat the location, and the Square is beautifully decorated for Christmas!) When we woke up the next morning, Greg had slipped the day's weather report under the door for us. When we left he came to say goodbye, asked if we needed help with our bags, and walked us to our car.

Greg and Jeannine went above and beyond with every detail, and their warmth and generosity won us over right from the start. They told us they were there to help us with anything we might need, and you could tell they truly meant it. We will not hesitate to return for future anniversaries and relaxing trips away from the kids!

We did miss not having a hot breakfast, but we felt the convenient access to the coffee and tea in the room, as well as the fruit and muffins made up for it.

For dinner I would recommend Dobbin House. We ate downstairs in the Tavern and had a great meal. For breakfast or lunch I would highly recommend Cafe Saint Armand, which was located on the same block as the Inn and was delicious.
