Review of Gettysburg Diorama

Attraction details
Owner description: See the ENTIRE battlefield at one time and watch the troop movements for ALL three days of battle. The battlefield covers 6,000 acres, an area large enough to be difficult to visualize. The Gettysburg Diorama will put the battle into perspective when you see the ENTIRE battlefield as it appeared in 1863. Carefully researched and meticulously assembled, the Diorama contains over 20,000 hand-painted soldiers, horses, cannons and buildings. Picture the battle through the eyes of Generals Meade and Lee as a narrative unfolds in miniature with a light and sound effects experience you won't forget.

The diorama was a very interesting place to go see, however they crowd a lot of people in and only for a short time. You need at least 30 minutes to walk around and truly appreciate this attraction.

a waste of money after the free video at the museum. it was too hard to follow with just spot lights on a semi flat surface. should have been free to just walk around it.

“Excellent Way to Start our Visit!”
Reviewed 22 June 2014

This was a really good way for us to get a better overview of the battle- it made our car tour make more sense. This was very well done and the staff was very nice. Very glad we came and well worth the reasonable admission. Tip: the Ghost Lab is adjacent- we balanced our serious (the Diorama) with the not so serious (the Ghost Lab) and all our group was very happy.

This is an amazing diorama. The town is laid out before you, with toy soldiers in scenes of battle in the areas where fighting occurred. There is a narrated program that highlights the sections of the battle. You are able to walk entirely around the display to see all of the sections of the town. There is also a very well stocked gift shop in the building.

we were given free tickets for this from the horseback riding tour. We thoroughly enjoyed this diorama. It was informative and entertaining. It appeared to be put together carefully. It had a lot of detail. We would have paid to see this if we did not have tickets.
