My husband and I just returned from a 3 night stay. This was our second time at the Inn, and this time was as wonderful as the first. The Inn and grounds are impeccably well maintained. We stayed in the General's Quarters and the room was so spacious, with an amazing view of the grounds. We traveled in mid October, which was the perfect time to enjoy the fall foliage. We took several walks and enjoyed coffee on the deck and by the koi pond. The Inn is well located just a short drive outside of the town of Gettysburg. You can enjoy a day in town and on the battlefield, but travel back to the comforts of the Inn within a few minutes. The Inn is also well located just a short distance away from Baltimore, D.C., Inner Harbor, etc. to allow for short day trips. The bed was one of the most comfortable we have stayed in. We enjoyed long soaks in the whirlpool tub, and the comfort of the fireplace. Access to the 24 hour kitchen is such a nice touch, not to mention the wonderful home baked snacks that were available daily. The breakfasts were delicious, and more than enough to satisfy us through the day. We also enjoyed an afternoon at the spa located on site. How wonderful! The spa is only open to guests of the Inn so the setting is both comfortable and private. The owners are simply splendid. Such a pleasure to deal with. They truly look to make your stay special. We cannot wait to return.
