“Another amazing stay at The Inn at White Oak!”
Reviewed 30 October 2012

My husband and I just returned from a 3 night stay. This was our second time at the Inn, and this time was as wonderful as the first. The Inn and grounds are impeccably well maintained. We stayed in the General's Quarters and the room was so spacious, with an amazing view of the grounds. We traveled in mid October, which was the perfect time to enjoy the fall foliage. We took several walks and enjoyed coffee on the deck and by the koi pond. The Inn is well located just a short drive outside of the town of Gettysburg. You can enjoy a day in town and on the battlefield, but travel back to the comforts of the Inn within a few minutes. The Inn is also well located just a short distance away from Baltimore, D.C., Inner Harbor, etc. to allow for short day trips. The bed was one of the most comfortable we have stayed in. We enjoyed long soaks in the whirlpool tub, and the comfort of the fireplace. Access to the 24 hour kitchen is such a nice touch, not to mention the wonderful home baked snacks that were available daily. The breakfasts were delicious, and more than enough to satisfy us through the day. We also enjoyed an afternoon at the spa located on site. How wonderful! The spa is only open to guests of the Inn so the setting is both comfortable and private. The owners are simply splendid. Such a pleasure to deal with. They truly look to make your stay special. We cannot wait to return.

Room Tip: All of the guest quarters are well located. Each has a TV and quick access to the rest of the ameni...

Our stay at the Inn at White Oaks was incredible: from the wonderful hospitality of the owners, attention to detail and service, excellent breakfasts, ability to stretch out given the size of guest rooms (very large), and park-like setting with ponds and neatly landscaped grounds. We have been at many B&B's before but none have had the overall excellence along with charm w/o being quaint and peacefulness of the Inn at White Oak. Our choice was a last minute decision that paid off so well we are looking to return again with family and friends. Highly recommend this Inn.

Room Tip: The first floor has a very large room looking out on the pond with a fireplace, and king size bed th...

Just far enough outside of Gettysburg to avoid the crowds and traffic, but not too far that you can't run into town for a bite to eat. Set back on a secluded estate, the owners are the most pleasant couple, very welcoming, a tour is given to you upon arrival and between the home theatre and the magnificent rooms, it's almost hard to take in all at once. The three course breakfast and the warm cookies served in the evening were parts of our trip we'll never forget. We enjoyed out stay and will be back!

My husband and I had an amazing stay at the Inn. Absolutely loved the walk around the property and relaxing on the deck and enjoying the Koi pond. The coffee/tea/snacks around the clock is such a wonderful and appreciated ammenity. The Innkeepers have mastered a blend of welcoming and knowledgable friendliness mixed with respect for their guests privacy. The breakfast was absolutely amazing, and kept us full for hours of exploration time. The Inn and the room we stayed in (Major's Quarters) was clean, with lovely decorations! I would absolutely return.

I just wanted to say what a perfect stay we had at the Inn at White Oak! We were married at the inn and Jillian, Samuel, “Mom and Dad”. Made everything perfect! Not only we got breakfast in bed they went out of there way to make us feel at home. Everything was great. The breakfast is so yummy! And I would suggest the Ginger cookies, they were soft and had the best taste. We stay in the Commander’s Quarter and the room was so comfortable and beautiful. And the bed was probably the most comfortable I have slept in. We looked Albert ( the bearskin rug). LOL… Would HIGHLY recommend this Inn to anyone. We will return soon!

Room Tip: All the room were beautiful, but if you want a once in a lifetime experence, I recommed the Commande...

Having accomodated our last minute request for a room, we were already impressed with the hospitality of the Innkeepers! What a pleasant surpirise to find that the Inn at White Oak itself was a gem! The room was wonderful, the setting sublime, and the breakfast to die for! We will be back!

We had a wonderful experience staying at The Inn at White Oak in October. The staff was excellent, and all part of the same lovely family. Our room (The Majors Room) was large and very comfortable. Breakfasts are exceptional. The Inn is tastefully decorated. This is about as inviting a hotel as any place we've ever stayed. Highly recommended.
