Description: Mr. G's Ice Cream is located in the historic John Winebrenner house in Gettysburg Pennsylvania. Battle scarred by bullets on the south side of the building and reportedly haunted by spirits of the past, Mr. G's offers delicious homemade and soft serve ice cream. Stop in and try one of our homemade waffle cones and enjoy the ambience of this historic Gettysburg building

Located in one of many historic buildings in Gettysburg is this ice cream parlor - gorgeous on the outside and modern and bland on the inside. If it's just the icecream you are after then beware that there are very few flavors - and I'm not completely confident that the icecream is homemade - as they claim. It had that crystallized, sugary, over processed icecream feel. But if you're not a critic and you are just trying to satisfy the kids, they won't complain. One scoop is plenty, especially when it's $2.30 a scoop.

This parlor is a great place to cool off in the evening after a day of sightseeing. The workers are very friendly and help with the sometimes long lines. The homemade ice cream was very good. My favorite was the black raspberry. I grew up in PA and moved to VA. It is very difficult to find good black raspberry in the South. We were there 4 days and got ice cream each evening. The mocha fudge was also great. The combination of the homemade ice cream and the waffle cones makes it a must stop in Gettysburg. The portions are huge and a good price.

You might have to stand in line and wait for awhile to savor this sumptous treat. But it is worth the wait.

I ordered a dish of blue moon-flavored ice cream, which I was extremely excited to see on the flavor list. It lacked the flavor I was expecting but was still a very good cold treat. The shop is adorable and in an interesting area. It would have been nice if the staff was more cheerful, but Mr. G's is still a nice experience.

This ice cream parlor is a must-see in Gettysburg. They sell their own homemade ice cream in their own homemade waffle cones in a wonderful historic building. If you like ice cream, definitely check this place out!
