Friendly, accommodating and professional. The food was out of this world. Margie was extremely helpful in showing us around. I've never had service on this level before. The waitress Joan even offered to drive us into town and pick us up, for we had a few drinks at dinner. I've never encountered such friendly people. Did I say the food was phenomenal?

We traveled to Gettysburg in the beginning of June wanting to stay in a "haunted" room. While we did not experience anything paranormal, we did experience excellent customer service. Upon our arrival after a three hour drive, we were greeted with a glass of champagne and the hostess warmly chatted with us for awhile before we were ready to head up to our room. In our room there was an ice bucket with a mini champagne bottle and fresh fruit/cheese plate waiting for us. Once we settled in she let us know about the restaurant next door if we wanted something less formal than the restaurant in house. My husband and I went out to explore the battlefield and when we returned later than expected, they were more than gracious when we asked if it was too late to get a glass of wine. We did not realize they were already closed but they were more than willing to get some wine out for us. The next morning the breakfast was set out and the hostess for breakfast was very attentive and chatted with us a bit too. We only stayed one night, and when we left, they politely wished us well and sent us off with fresh baked cookies. I loved our relaxing stay at the Inn, and the nicest last touch was the hand written note sent to my home just last week thanking us for staying with them.I would definitely recommend this Inn, and if I find myself wandering this area again, I would stay here. Thank you for the wonderful experience, and kudos to your staff for being so warm and welcoming.

My wife has always wanted to stay at a bed-and-breakfast inn and especially one that has paranormal experiences. Although we didn't see anything, we did hear something drop to the floor that wasn't normal. Aside from that, the room was beautiful and clean, the staff was extremely helpful and friendly, and the food was excellent. We definitely will come back for other visits.

Room Tip: Unfortunately we picked a time of the year when hundreds of bikers chose to come for some biker conv...

The inn is located just outside Gettysburg, about 2 minutes from town. It was a quick trip into town and to the Gettysburg Visitors' Center.

The inn itself is pretty and has a historic past. We stayed in the nearby facility, within walking distance of the inn, where there was a tiny kitchen with lots of amenities (bottled water, tea, coffee, frig), a sitting room with library, and a beautifully landscaped–yard.

We were greeted in our room with champagne, fruit and cheese–what a nice surprise! We were tired from sightseeing and driving when we arrived, and this snack was just enough that we didn't have to dress and go out for dinner.

They staff was friendly, but not really warm.

Breakfast was wonderful, continental choices and an entree. Ours was a veggie frittata and french toast–yum!

Would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Note that there are rooms in the inn and there are rooms in a facility just behind the inn. The nea...

The room was quite unique with a Spa Tub, Dinner was excellently prepared, Scallops and Swordfish, and in the morning Complimentary Eggs Benedict. If you are seeking a historical location, this is it. We've stayed many times at the Inn at Herr Ridge. Each room is unique and spacious and decorated in quaint 1860s decor.. It certainly beats the smaller rooms at a chain hotel. And it is quiet..we never heard anyone in the other rooms. Above all, the rooms are spotless! The staff is excellent, friendly and accommodating. There was a large wedding party while we were there but we never felt neglected. There has been some beautiful improvements to Sharpshooters Grill. I remember when it looked like a 'basement', but it has been redone and is very cozy. The location is away from the hustle of the town. So no crowds. It is close to the Gettysburg s battlefield...within walking distance. Highly recommend a stay here if traveling to Gettysburg.

Room Tip: The rooms in the new section are large. The original rooms are smaller.
