“Nice!”
Reviewed 24 June 2014

We ate dinner in the downstairs tavern. Such atmosphere!! Loved it and the food was good also. We had a drink at the bar while waiting for our table. The period costumes of the staff were an added touch.

“The very best in Gettysburg”
Reviewed 24 June 2014

The Dobbin house Tavern is the oldest house in Gettysburg. Full of history, the best food and exceptional service. Not to mention the awesome gift shop. This was not our first visit and will not be our last. My favorite on the menu is the crab cakes. Don't forget to check out there mini museum...so much history.

“Great lunch! Great atmosphere!”
Reviewed 24 June 2014

We had just finished having a photo taken at the Victorian Photo Studio across the street and we were looking for a place to have lunch so we though we'd try the Springhouse Tavern in the basement. We were a party of 7 and it's a pretty small place so I thought we might have a bit of a wait for a table. We checked in and they were able to seat us in about 5 minutes. Loved the atmosphere! Dripping candles on each of the wooden tables and some lanterns on the walls were the only lighting so it was just dimly lit - the kids loved it! The servers all dressed the part too. We ordered, grilled chicken sandwiches, steak sandwiches and burgers. Everything was perfectly cooked and delicious! The potato salad that came as a side was a little too sweet for our liking but the potato chips were great. I would highly recommend this place for lunch to anyone visiting the area. Prices were reasonable too.

“Wish we could have gone twice!”
Reviewed 23 June 2014

Word of advice: make reservations. We had dinner reservations for Friday night and wish we'd made one for Saturday because we went back for lunch and the wait was too long. For dinner, we tried a variety of dishes and all were excellent. The atmosphere was nice and peaceful with a bit of civil war era flavor. Our server was delightful -- knowledgeable and fast. As noted, we would have gone again if we could have gotten in!
