The museum would be worth the visit alone - probably the best museum I have visited dealing with Civil War medicine - but add a guided tour to the cupola and this is a must see in a must see location. Excellent 30 minute guided tour truly gives on a lesson on geography and warfare. Also focuses on the crucial but often overlooked first day that set the stage for the battle.

The Museum is run by top notched folks who also conduct programs which are by far the best. The museum itself is a haunting experience of the horrors of the war brought to life in a very unique way. Don't miss this wonderful place!

If you're in Gettysburg to learn more about the battle, this is a must stop. The roll the Seminary played in the battle, and the saving of lives is beyond significant. They have done an excellent job in their displays and presentation of the story.

The Seminary Ridge Museum houses an excellent overview of the battle around this building during the Gettysburg battle. There are four floors of exhibits outlining the battle history, it's role as a hospital, and the division between religions as they tackled the slavery issue. They have short 3 minute films on each floor which are well executed.

I was impressed that the photo exhibits of dead soldiers and wounds on surviving soldiers is presented out of the eyesight of little ones.

For an extra charge ($20) you can visit the Cupola where both Buford and Lee (at different times) overlooked the battle field. IMHO, this is worth the extra. First much of the cupola was there at the time of the war, the guide for this is incredibly knowledgeable and will point out references point for the battle and the town of Gettysburg. In addition, the opportunity for great photos.

I do agree that overall the museum is heavily prejudiced towards the Northern soldier experience. However, considering it's location, I'm not surprised.

A little pricey but worth doing. You have to go to the cupola. The guide did a great job explaining the history. You really can see the story unfold with this awesome view.
