We took this tour because it was my daughters pick and we were all pleasantly surprised! The young man who gave our tour was a great story teller and gave us all the history of the Wade house. Well worth the money!

“Reminder of the toll war has on civilians”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 June 2014

Jenny Wade was a civilian, living in the town of Gettysburg, who was accidentally struck by a bullet and killed while baking bread in this house. She didn't actually live here, but was visiting her sister. This is a good reminder that in war, no spot is ever really safe. I visited the house when I was young, and didn't visit it again on subsequent trips until just recently. The house has a high level of "supernatural" occurrences that have made it very popular for after-hours ghost adventures. Well worth visiting to see a home from this era, and to hear the sad tale of Jenny Wade.

“The mystery of Jenny Wade”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 June 2014 via mobile

Doing film work and celebrating the 150th Gettysburg civil war in july 2013, my business partner and myself had to visit the infamous Jenny Wade who sadly died by a solo bullet.

The house has a sad emotional feel but is kept up with the 19th century decor just like the days of civil war troops battling it out on the very streets outside.

Our tour guide was very knowledgeable of the sad tale of Jenny's demise and guided us throughout the entire house with details and facts.

If you're a civil war buff like me & want to step in time, you definitely have to tour the house of Jenny Wade and experience the historical story behind the death of the only civilian casualty of the civil war.

I had no bad experience so no negative criticisms.

“Jenny Wade House Tour”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 June 2014

We recently visited the Jenny Wade house. The tour was excellent. The tour guide, Roger was courteous and extremely knowledgeable. Roger answered all of our questions and made the tour very interesting with his comments about little known facts. Janice in the gift shop was very pleasant and also gave us more information and insight into the events that took place in Gettysburg during the Civil War. I would highly recommend visiting the Jenny Wade House to anyone spending time in Gettysburg.
