It is always interesting to see where famous historical figures lived and the FDR home was no exception. The house itself is set on a beautiful stretch of land, but is somewhat gloomy inside, due to all the dark wood and over decoration typical of the period. It's always wonderful to see a property like this with a guide who is not only knowledgeable but downright passionate about the place and its owners. Our guide was just great--he had so many details to share about FDR, his presidency and private and family life. We realized that FDR was a far greater president than we thought, and that his policies and programs truly saved and transformed this nation. The film which precedes the tour is also very informative and not to be missed.
