We came across the opportunity to dine at the CIA and one of their many restaurants via our advanced travel research on TA. We were only slightly taken back by the requirement to make an reservation and an un-refundable deposit to secure a dining slot. You really have to know you are going to be available for this place. In the end, we truly enjoyed visiting the school grounds, which are very expansive, chatting with several of the 2,800 plus students, see food prepared, being waited on enthusiastic near-graduates, and experiencing the food.
You can easily fit lunch in between a early morning tour of the Vanderbilt Mansion and the FDR Library and Home in the afternoon.
