“We loved the experience at the Culinary Institute of America!”
Reviewed 8 June 2013

We came across the opportunity to dine at the CIA and one of their many restaurants via our advanced travel research on TA. We were only slightly taken back by the requirement to make an reservation and an un-refundable deposit to secure a dining slot. You really have to know you are going to be available for this place. In the end, we truly enjoyed visiting the school grounds, which are very expansive, chatting with several of the 2,800 plus students, see food prepared, being waited on enthusiastic near-graduates, and experiencing the food.

You can easily fit lunch in between a early morning tour of the Vanderbilt Mansion and the FDR Library and Home in the afternoon.

“Excellent, creative food”
Reviewed 4 June 2013

My wife and I enjoyed a very pleasant lunch here. A wonderful apptizer followed by two tasty entree's, finally followed by a tasty desert and the best coffee we have had in some time on our vacation trip. The service was excellent; when we filled out the customer review form we were unable to come up with something to say about how they could improve the dining experience. Don't miss this place!

“Great dinner on a Tuesday night”
Reviewed 12 April 2013

We were passing through Hyde Park with an overnight on a Tuesday and not having been before, wanted to try one of the CIA restaurants. St. Andrew's was available. We had the Cioppino, Chicken and Lamb and all were excellent. The student staff are charming and do great work, which adds to the experience and makes it a thoroughly enjoyable night out. We will definitely return if in the area again or if we travel to one of the other CIA locations. Highly recommended!

“A Relaxing lunch”
Reviewed 17 March 2013

On a rainy March afternoon, my husband and I met out of town family members for lunch at St. Andrews cafe. To start, parking can be a challenge and getting to the cafe in the rain is quite an experience. Once there, the reception by the student staff was friendly and inviting. The menu featured produce from local area markets and farms. All the luncheon presentations were beautifully presented. I had a quinoa with an avacado and salsa fill. The local beef was tasty.
The CIA has many fine resturants and the location is just magnificent. The bookstore is a treat and if you are looking for sandwiches and pastries, the CIA has a great bakery. Classes are also available. Take a tour of the whole facility and watch future chefs learn their trade.

“Lovely lunch at the CIA”
Reviewed 2 March 2013

We have eaten at the CIA many times but never for lunch or at the St Andrews Cafe. We were not disappointed. The lamb was delicious and the bread pudding as well. Our server was delightful Katie. She graduates in May and then on to the bachelor's program. We wish her the best. Her "front of the house" personality gave us a chuckle or two and added to an already pleasant afternoon.
