If you want to experience the hospitality of Hyde Park and be close to everything, stay here. It was like being at home. Our hostess was very gracious and she is an historian in her own right. A top recommendatiion!

My husband and I just returned from a two day stay at Costello's Guest House in Hyde Park, and are looking forward to going back. We stayed in the Nautical room (lovely decor!) and enjoyed the sitting room as well, with a comfortable place to read, a handy refrigerator, and a corkscrew! The price was very reasonable and it was so much more appealing than staying at a chain motel. Patsy was very welcoming and her knowledge about the area and dining recommendations (Cranberry's Cafe and the Ever-ready Diner) were much appreciated.

My dear friend from high school and I stayed at Costello’s Guest House to attend an Omega workshop this past October. We rented the separate bedrooms and enjoyed the common room with a refrigerator to discuss the day’s events over wine and cheese. The drive to Rhinebeck each morning was delightful, with beautiful fall foliage on rural roads. Patsy was very helpful in giving directions and making sure we had everything we needed. Her stories about the Roosevelt family and her memorabilia were fascinating. Our only disappointment was that the ongoing government shutdown meant that the parks were unexpectedly closed during our week in Hyde Park.

Even arriving later than planned on a chill off-season visit in late November, we were warmly received and appreciated the home-like comfort of our room. The hostess is also well informed about the remarkable history of Hyde Park and has an excellent collection of books about the Rosevelts, including several for purchase. The home is within walking distance of an excellent cafe and bakery at the center of Hyde Park village.

Room Tip: Of the two rooms, the Canopy room is larger.

Located on a quiet residential street off of busy route 9. Patsy made sure that we were comfortable - and had everything we needed. The rooms were cozy and comfortable and the home is filled with memorabilia - it had the pleasant feel of staying with my grandmother As an added bonus - Patsy's knowledge about the history of the area and the Roosevelts was amazing - she had many, many wonderful stories. Patsy's dining recommendations were spot on - (Cranberry's around the corner has excellent baked goods - and delicious weekend specials). It was a good home base for visiting all of the historical sites in the Hyde Park/Pougheepsie area - we'd definitely stay there again!

Room Tip: Two rooms - the canopy room is bigger.

Patsy was a treasure trove of lore about local history and the Roosevelts. She was very welcoming and informative. I was there to do research, and she connected me with people who had actually known the woman I was researching. She really went out of her way for me.

My room was small but nice. Unfortunately, the larger bedroom wasn't available. No breakfast, but just a block away from a good local cafe that sold the NY Times.

Room Tip: The larger bedroom is really very spacious, with lots of room for a desk or just sitting. The back...

The inn is located very close to the omega institute . It offered us an option to staying at omega , and it was very affordable. It was clean, comfortable and located 10 mins from omega. Hyde park is very historic, Pasty, the host, was very knowledgeable about all there was to see. The Culinary institute is very near by, and the Vanderbilt rose gardens just down the road. We were very happy with our stay, the bed was very comfortable. A really nice perk was that Patsy's has a massage therapist, there named Joan....my massage was wonderful and just what I needed after traveling from Virginia. We hope to stay again on our next trip back to Omega!!
