“NPS Gem!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 June 2013 via mobile

For those of us who know far too little about Eugene O'Neill, the guided tour by Ranger Tad is quite educational. This wonderful house on this stunning hillside in Danville gave O'Neill a respite from fame and a quiet place to dedicate himself to his writing. We visited on a beautiful sunny day and enjoyed walking the grounds and visiting Remmie's grave. This is an excellent acquisition by the National Park Service.

“A wonderful surprising tour!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 May 2013

Having lived in Danville for 38 years, we have never visited this site. On a whim, when the bus tour happened to pull up as we were heading to the farmer's market, we jumped on board, saying we have always wanted to see the O'Neill site. Wonderful docent tour and beautiful grounds! Very well done and educational Well worth the visit!

I hiked up to the site and really enjoyed visiting the outdoor displays. Will go back when I can see the entire facility.

“Two more NPS gems -- a site and a ranger”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 March 2013

Ranger Tad's (sp?) dedication to this site made this more than an educational experience. Learning the many facts would have interesting enough, but his telling of the story was heartfelt as well as expert.

“Hidden treasure”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 March 2013

I grow up in the area and had never been to the house. Starting with the ride up to the property, the trip was entertaining. Exploring the house with the guides in different areas was very informative and it is nicely preserved. The view from the property is wonderful and you can image what it was like before the surrounding development. Thanks to the National Park for taking care of our past.
