First, in the spirit of full disclosure, I was lucky enough to attend a cooking demonstration given by Chef Efron a week prior to this dinner visit, which was a very enjoyable and entertaining evening. If anyone tells you that a Caesar salad is “just a salad” remind them it is really all about the dressing, and Chef Sam’s is very good. Also, his Florida sweet corn risotto is wonderful, especially with the sweet corn puree (OMG). It is what prompted me to suggest we have dinner there on this evening. However, I did not mention to our server I had attended the demonstration so there was no special treatment.
This visit was on a Saturday, we arrived slightly early before dinner service began, so we started with a cheese and charcuterie plate which is always beautifully presented and a glass of wine, never disappointed with this.
For dinner, we chose one of the specials (14oz rib-eye) and the house made Pappardelle. The steak was cooked to perfection, the balsamic glaze was just the right touch and fingerling potatoes were delicious. The house made pasta was very good, just the right amount of sauce, basil and parmesan, Yum.
Save room for desert, they never disappoint. The apple dumplings were marvelous and of course the cookie plate is always the perfect touch to enjoy with a cup of coffee or espresso at the end of the meal.
This is truly a terrific place to have a lite snack, full meal, drinks and desert. You cannot miss here, and we’ll be back again very soon and often.
