We had been meaning to try this for some time, we finally got the opportunity on a recent weekend and I can not even tell you how much we enjoyed this dining experience! First the menu is "purposeful" - not filled with too many choices, or overwhelming, but enough to offer a perfect variety for just about anyone's palate. We started with a cheese & charcuterie plate, beautifully presented with lovely accompaniments, fig jam, truffle honey & grainy mustard. We also ordered the hummus which was excellent but too much for 2, I would suggest this for a table of 4 if you're ordering other small plates. The entree list had such interesting choices, we chose the skirt steak, which came with roasted peppers/onions and perfectly roasted fingerling potatoes, ask for a side of the garlic ailoi - Delicious! The steak was a melt-in-your mouth perfect medium with an incredible chimichurri sauce, we can not wait to go back again. The wine list is also well thought out and again "purposeful" is the word that comes to mind. This entire menu and its accompaniments are well planned AND most importantly well executed! Bravo!
Our only concern - we ordered dessert, the special was chocolate torte with brulee banana with banana ice cream. Our waiter forgot to mention that the chocolate torte had peanuts, which for one of us it was just a matter of not liking peanuts, but if someone with a peanut allergy had ordered, it could have been problematic. That said, it was to-die-for delicious! So just and FYI to the wait staff, be clear on the ingredients. Oh, and the house made seasonal shortbread cookies, perfection! Truly one of the best dining experiences I have ever had.
