We stayed at this hotel the night before our cruise out of Jacksonville port. It was a great location with plenty of restaurants and close enough to drive to the port and leave our cars in the hotel parking lot with no worries. The staff was extremely helpful in providing things to see and do in Jacksonville for first timers. I would recommend this hotel to any traveler for cruising or visiting Jacksonville. The kids really enjoyed the pool.

My family chose this hotel because it is located near UNF and is conveniently located along I-295. There are plenty of restaurants just east on Atlantic Blvd. The rooms are clean, breakfast area well stocked and clean, and we paid less than $100, including tax, for a room that sleeps 5. We stayed on the top floor and the hotel was quiet and the room was nice and cool. Great night's sleep! Tip: it's tricky to turn onto Jefferson Road if you are traveling east. There is a back way in from St. John's Bluff Rd N. Check your map.

Loved everything about this hotel. We stayed for the Memorial Day weekend and the location was perfect and the staff was friendly but we just couldn't give it an overall great review because we felt like we were inconveniencing the overnight clerk. Every time we came down or called he was either asleep or he just didn't answer the phone and we had to walk downstairs. Not sure of his name though. Other than that everything was great. Probably wont be returning but the staff and rooms (2 queens) were perfect

It was great that this location, was easy to find and nearby to local businesses and restaurants but we were not thrilled that the hotel was sandwiched oddly between a vacant, overgrown lot and a trailer park. The hotel itself is great, the common and lobby areas were open and clean and the staff was very nice. It was also great that we were welcomed as priority guests with complementary snacks (the first time we actually got any type of priority club recognition from a Holiday Inn location) but it was odd to have to split one bottle of water and one bag of chips between 5 people, would have been nice to at least have gotten 2 of each. When we got to our room we really liked the layout, it was very spacious with a separate living room area and sleeping area. We had 2 queen beds and a pull out couch to sleep 5 people- 2 adults and 3 kids. We weren't thrilled to open the curtain and have the view of the back of someone's trailer home, could have done without that. Our bathroom was not 100% clean as there was mold over several areas of the shower and tub. The corners of the bathroom floor were super dirty like they swept and mopped but never in the corners. However this wasn't so bad that we mentioned it to the staff because we were only staying two days. Our only other complaint about the room itself was that there was a decorative wall (we assumed decorative because it seemed to serve no other structural purpose but to provide a shelf) that put the couch at an odd angle which was nice until you used the pullout bed and then it extended the couch out all the way until it touched the desk and unit that contained fridge and microwave. So, if anyone had to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night they had to crawl over the bed to get to the bathroom. This is probably a fire hazard as well, but it wouldn't happen it the silly shelf wasn't there. I got great sleep both nights and thought the bed was extremely comfortable but my husband did not and he didn't sleep at all both nights we were there.
The free morning breakfast is a great amenity, but it wasn't stocked well enough to where you could make a plate of all the food you wanted at once. In general, the breakfast was well attended and it was very crowded both mornings we were there. They only have one tray of scrambled eggs, sausage/bacon, and biscuits at a time and they ran out very quickly. Then you had to wait until the woman appeared from behind the door so you could let her know what was out. They kept running out of other things such as utensils, cups, lids, coffee. There was only one attendant on duty both mornings. The first morning (sunday) wasn't so bad, but Monday was packed. Everyone bum-rushed the breakfast during the last half hour and they had run out of everything but wouldn't put anymore out because it was so close to 9:30am, it was pretty disappointing. The pancake maker was awesome! It was great how it would pop out two freshly made pancakes in 2 minutes. On Monday, the machine ran out of pancake batter and people kept telling the attendant and she would say "no it's fine" and would push a button and walk off...the machine would reset and attempt to make a pancake and then stop again saying it needed to be refilled, but she wouldn't come back to fill it. After 10 minutes of waiting I finally told my son to forget about it because he wasn't getting any more pancakes. They had one trash can and it was overflowing and no one came to empty it the entire time we were there and people kept awkwardly putting more trash on top of pile. If they had more staff to be more attentive to the breakfast area, the breakfast would be great.
The pool is good, but it is on the small side with no hot tub. When we went to use the pool there was a large group, a kids baseball team, that was there using the pool. They had taken almost all of the chairs from around the pool and moved them in one corner. There were not many chairs to start with and there was another group of men in the other corner taking up the other chairs. It made it hard to enjoy the pool when there was a bunch of screaming 12 year boys throwing stuff all over and doing cannon balls while their wine and beer drinking parents could give a care off in the corner. After awhile we left because it was annoying and it started to get really buggy outside.
Our only other gripes was that this hotel is off of the main road and there is not a general store nearby to buy snacks and drinks and the very small hotel snack stand was severely lacking. I wanted some microwave popcorn since the room had a microwave but they didn't have any. It also didn't have it's own restaurant or bar which would have been nice to get a nightcap before bed. Overall this a great hotel but could be Excellent if there were more staff and housekeeping kept bathrooms cleaner.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on front side as back faces the trailer park. There is no wall safe in the room at a...

Convenient to beaches, shops, plenty of restaurants, downtown, and the farmers market. Easy access to highway. The dining room staff and front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The room ( 2 queen beds) was clean and a nice size. Would stay at this facility again.

The hotel is in a great location right off of 295. This was a great hotel, from the friendly staff, to the very comfortable beds, and clean rooms. We enjoyed the mini-suite with a separate seating area, from the beds as well as fridge in the room. The wireless was extremely fast, and the breakfast in the morning had a good selection of hot and cold items.

Great location, great atmosphere, great breakfast, great rooms. Ease of check-in with very helpful staff. Great access to downtown to the west and the beaches to the east. HIE breakfast is one of the best in the industry with their signature cinnamon rolls.
