Owner description: Memorial Park is located at 1620 Riverside Avenue, between Margaret Street and Memorial Park Drive in Riverside near the 5 Points area of Jacksonville, Florida. It is one of Jacksonville's best loved treasures. Located along the banks of the majestic St. Johns River (incidentally, at one of its widest points, as it starts to turn east from its southern source towards its mouth at the Atlantic Ocean), this six-acre park draws visitors from across the Northeast Florida community. On any given day, families and friends, athletes and yogis, sunbathers, fisherman, and readers enjoy a quiet respite with magnificent views from this landmark open space. The park is walking distance to local restaurants and pubs, the shops at 5 Points, and the Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens, and just a short drive to Downtown.

“Beautiful views”
Reviewed 10 November 2012

While the views are beautiful overlooking the St John's River the park could be a little cleaner. The fountain has never been on since I moved here a year ago. Needs some TLC

“Laid back.”
Reviewed 1 June 2012

It's mostly just land, it's great if you want to take your small dog out if you're in an apartment and it's also great if you just want to have a picnic or draw/paint something. Lots of trees and grass right on the St Johns River.

“Beautiful Space.”
Reviewed 18 February 2012

Fantastic green space right on the river. Starbucks, Smoothie King just a few minutes walk away. We love to get some coffee and head over to the park. Lots of nice shady spots to hang out, plenty of benches surround the central grass area. Very quiet and peaceful even though it's not particularly secluded. One of Jacksonville's nicest parks.

“Beautiful Small Park in Jacksonville”
Reviewed 14 May 2011

After a morning and mid-day spent in downtown Jacksonville, we elected to drive through a couple of the historic neighborhoods near downtown. We stopped at Memorial Park because it is so picturesque. The park is small but well-used -- sports on the lawn, a fisherman by the river, and others like us just enjoying the beauty and peace of the park on a lovely spring day. We enjoyed sitting on a bench under the trees gazing out at the water. The park has a unique World War I monument in the center by the lake. Pictures online give a good sense of the park and it's neighborhood. See www.metrojacksonville.com/article/2008-jun-urban-parks-memorial-park .
