The Cummer, a small, intimate museum, is home to a varied and interesting works of art while the waterfront location and manicured gardens provide a peaceful respite to one's day. The children's area is both educational and entertaining to little ones while the cafe is, well, just a simple cafe with quite ordinary food. This museum is, by no means, on par with the larger, better known museums of the world but it is a beautiful touch of Jacksonville history that is worth a visit.

We visited the museum on a day when there was a tea and talk about John Sargeant. That was enjoyable as well as seeing the rest of the museum and gardens. If the weather cooperates then one must absolutely stroll around the gardens. It was a pleasant way to spend a few hours in this lovely place. The gift shop is extremely enticing.

The museum has a fine collection. When we were there, they had a temporary exhibit from local collectors which was excellent. The gardens are beautiful with great river views. And the staff was very nice.

Honestly, the art was good and well-presented but for me, it was all about the gardens and location! Such a lovely outdoor area. If I were from the area and wanted a wedding location, Cummer Gardens would be my spot.

The gardens, set along the riverfront, are such a lovely place to sit and relax. The art in the museum is arranged very well, covers so much variety and isn't at all overwhelming in numbers. All in all a wonderful place to spend a day. The cafe is quite nice also.
