I read about Little Talbot Island State Park in Trip Advisor before we went. A lady commented on how few people were there. We went on a morning and found that to be true until lunch time. At 9:00 there were only five other people on the five mile beach! Just a nice quiet time to enjoy my wife!

Camped here for 2 nights. Very shaded sites. So many trees, each site is fairly private.
The campground is on one side of the road and the beach is on the other side of the road. The beach is quite a walk from the campground, especially if you are hauling beach chairs, etc. There is a non-shaded parking lot at the beach, and then a long boardwalk to the beach.
The beach is gorgeous and private. Very uncrowded. Beautiful white sand. Wonderful if you have a bicycle.
There is a small river that runs by the campground. At low tide it is only about a foot deep. At high tide it is 6 feet deep. Saw some people fishing at high tide. Not sure if they caught anything.
There is a section of beach about 2 miles up the road called The Bluffs. It is a beautiful piece of land. The beach is eroding and there are huge pieces of driftwood along the beach. Worth a stop to see.

Affordable! Shower houses are big and there are 2. They are easy to get to no matter what site you are at. It's nice to have a hot shower to rinse off the salt water. The beach is right across the street and free for campers. Fishing dock and nature trails. Even a treasure hunt nature trail! Absolutely Fantastic!!!!

This is one of my favorite places in Northeast Florida!

Beach is very nice with not many people on them. Great place for a walk on the beach.

The campgrounds are also nice with clean bathrooms and lots of space. There is a pass-code gate that closes at night to the camp grounds. Don't leave food out because the raccoons will get into everything.

The nicest part of the park is the hiking trail. The trail going through the heart of the island and comes out on the north end near some large sand dunes. You walk back on the beach. Most of time time we have seen gopher turtles near the sand dunes.

Check the tides before hiking, at high tide the surf at the end of the trail can be waist hight. Even if high tide it's only about 100 feet (left) around the corner to the beach. The total round trip is 4.7 miles.

Bring bug spray!

Many areas of Florida remain natural and wild, but this is one of the most accessible and also uncrowded. A unique beauty.
