Very peaceful place. Watched video on what had happened here, re-construction of what For Caroline looked like, not large. Great trails (bring mosquito spray).

We always try to visit a fort whenever we travel and Fort Caroline didn't disappoint. While there really isn't much to see, the volunteers did a great job. We are glad to be able to say we have visited.

The fort is worth saying that you have been their, but it really needs much further development before it becomes a must see, unless you are a history buff like I am.

It amazes me how barbaric the Spanish conquistadors were to other humans. This exhibit exposed a side of humanity that I thought was unconscionable. At least we have something to remember those who sacrificed their lives to populate the United States. Incredible to image these people braved the oceans and weather only to be killed by others from their same land. Rest in peace.

An excellent volunteer warden explained the lay out and significance of the site, showed us the expected DVD and then directed us down the well marked trail to the replica fort with its views over the bay.
Its the sort of place to visit if your killing time as there really is little (original) to see and the 'welcome centre' is quite small

2  Thank Richard T
