The beds were like heaven, clean fresh room.
Close to everything.
I was asked to switch to this location from the nearby Hampton Inns by my project management team.
This hotel was opened in October of 2008. It is a very nice location and the folks are great.
The only complaint I've had about the facility is their inconsistent room cleaning. At least three times, I've returned to my room over a five month period to find that the cleaning staff completely missed my room.
The hotel is just off 9A and is convenient to JAX airport and to I-95. It's also not too far from the TPC Sawgrass (I drove there in about 20 minutes).
This hotel was perfect much better than expected. My husband made a great selection.
I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Jacksonville - Town Center for a four day getaway. The location is convenient to the freeway but you should have detailed instructions about where to turn in to the road leading to the hotel. This is an area, so common in Florida, that has only recently been cleared of the native sawgrass. The Holiday Inn brand in recent years, like so many American chains, has been "reinventing itself" with modern new and refurbished properties. This is a new hotel and the appearance of the public areas as well as guest rooms is contemporary and pleasing. The staff was also very helpful and eager to meet individual requests. Especially charming was our restaurant server, Linda, who made us feel so welcome at dinner on the first night.
That said, there are many small details that keep this property from rising to a higher level. Among the numerous issues included a filthy shower and unvacuumed floor that greeted me after unlocking the room door. The staff was apologetic and immediately re-assigned me to a room next door but that is hardly the impression a new hotel would choose to make. Also, trash on the hall floors was left unattended for lengthy periods throughout my stay. Other less important issues include: only one small wastebasket (located in the bathroom), coffee maker located in the bathroom - those should be located near the microwave and 'fridge in the room, no bath mat provided for the very slippery marble tile bathroom floor, and no food in vending machines or sundries store in the lobby - guests need to drive a mile or more to the nearest convenience store for those late night snacks.
This hotel has potenital but has not matched the great appearance of the property with attention to details regarding cleanliness and convenience.
A very nice new hotel. Clean rooms with new bedding. Entire hotel is new so the service is excellent and the amenities are very good.
Breakfast was excellent at the restaurant.
