“Run the other way !”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 March 2014 via mobile

We booked this hotel through Travelocity for our stay in Jacksonville today through Monday, mistake ! The property looks okay when you pull in and although the furniture in the lobby was dated it didn't hint to what we were in store for. We got our room key drove around the corner to find a box spring outside in the walk way against the wall. We heeded the warning and left our bags in the car while we went to check out the room. Where do I start, the comforter had multiple large burn marks on it, the fridge was gross, and propped up by garbage tucked under it, the tv clunky, the room stunk, the Carpet dirty, the shower grout was dirty and moldy, there were what appeared to be poop stains on the toilet seat, as we walked back to the lobby we found the pool was filthy and uncovered (we later found out it was closed), the ice machine was disgusting and a local couple, who appeared to be under the influence of something, were outside fighting loudly. We immediately knew we weren't staying, prepaid or not, we explained to the receptionist that we were not checking in due to the lack of cleanliness and no use of the pool, she offered us another room which we politely declined, clearly there was no point. The owner happened to walk in the lobby, she explained the situation and asked him how to handle the it since we prepaid thru Travelocity. His answer was, "they will have to contact Travelocity". No apology no nothing !

Nice place. Showing age but overall clean, quiet and safe. Good location with wide assortment of dining options in the area. No coffee pot in room. Breakfast was a typical continential brekfast with coffee, juice, toast, cereal and fresh fruit. We could of paid more than twice the price to stay across the street but opted to stay here and save money. You should consider this place for your next time in this area.

Drove to Jacksonville on 01/24/12 to attend funeral next day. Check in at hotel was fast and upon entering our room, we found it to be clean, tidy and no smell of smoke. The beds were comfortable and provided a good nights sleep. For the price we got quiet a good surprise. We got good value for our money. The price was good and we were comfortable.

Hotel was okay for a one nighter but breakfast consisted of more than day old food. Desk person admitted that hotel was not doing well and that owners told staff they are probably going out of business soon.

We stayed on our way to and from the Florida Keys, on a Saturday and a Friday night. The first experience was not too bad. We stayed in Room 117. The front desk staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. The pool was out of order so the clerk offered to call the hotel across the street to notify them that our family of four would like to swim. Other than broken lampshades and mold in the shower the room was acceptable.
Our next stay, one week later was another matter. We checked into room 113 only to find it infested with fleas. There were also large gouges/ holes in the wall. I went to call the front desk and the phone's cords were all missing. I walked to the lobby and told the clerk, who arranged for us to move to room 225. Our cards did not work so I went back to the front desk to have them recharged. They still did not work so the clerk came and manually opened our room. There was a strange odor and the room was musty. The odor smelled of vomit. The bathroom was still moldy, but we were exhausted at this point and collapsed into bed. The walls were very thin and we could hear someone retching most of the night. The A/C did not adequately cool the room nor drown out the noise of the other guests' vomiting. The carpet felt sticky and damp.
The next morning, my husband was getting ice from the one and only machine that was in service, only to have a man dressed, only in his underpants, stumble out of his room to smoke right in front of him.
The breakfast was pathetic, consisting of two sugar-laden cereals, white bread, and mini muffins. The lobby is decorated nicely to give the impression of a respectable hotel. If you are considering staying here, ask to see the room first.

Room Tip: Find a different hotel! Stay with a name brand! If you must stay here, preview the room first!

The Jaxport Inn is close to the airport and freeway. I has pleasant, clean, non-smoking rooms, good air conditioning, and clean showers. They have Wi-Fi and a refrigerator in each room. The furniture is in need of some updating and their TV hook-up doesn't look too good but the price is very good and I was comfortable. This is a real budget saver place to stay while one travels about checking out the sights in Jacksonville..

The hotel itself is conveniently located right off of I-95.The man at the front desk was friendly and helpful. The room itself looked fairly clean but was definitely in need of a facelift. Everything is old and worn looking. The A/C was hard to operate and the it needed a new bathroom. The price was inexpensive especially considering it's location so you get what you pay for.
