After falling into disrepair the past several years, the new ownership has done a great job bringing this hotel back up to standards. New exterior paint, remodeled rooms, they earned our business back. It's worth the extra money to get a river view room. Perfect for runners, right out the door is the Astoria River Walk, 4 miles of path from wetlands to the bridge. Walk to the museum. Safeway is next door and Geno's Pizza is a block away across the street, so it's a perfect location in Astoria. The one negative is that the room doors slam shut very loudly.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms that have a connecting door to the neighboring rooms, lots of noise comes through. Pay...

The hotel was clean and comfortable, but it's in an ugly area. I didn't really care for it. But $174 a night is an outrage for this. I have paid that for a resort town and Astoria is not that. I thought being on the river would be quaint. Our window looked out over a home being demolished. Won't recommend it.

We made a stop in Astoria just so we could see some of the places from the Goonies movie. We ended up staying here which is across the street and down just a little from the Goonies house. The hotel itself was very nice. The beds were comfortable and the staff was very accommodating. They even told us to wait a few minutes before going out if we wanted a warm cookie. Not sure if this was normal of if they were just making some for themselves. The rooms were very clean and you had everything you needed. The staff was also helpful to us and others for great dining options. If we are every in the area again we would stay here in a second, because of the great hospitality we got.

Having stayed at many Comfort Inns and Suites before we were confident that booking a room here would be great. The bed was very comfortable, the shower pressure and the towels were also great! Breakfast was ok, but it was just as expected.
We had reserved a "riverview" with a king bed. As I stated above, the bed was really comfortable. The so called "riverview" was not! We had a first floor room and the only view we had was of the bushes and the chain link fence. Because Comfort has a posted policy that states if you're not completely satisfied with your accommodations, please contact the front desk and they will make it right. Well obviously, Kourtney, did not remember this. When my husband went back to the front desk to ask her about our room she was very rude and definitely didn't offer to make it right. She basically told him that our room was a riverview and that was it, end of discussion. Because we knew that we were not going to spend a lot of our time in our room, we decided not to challenge her further even though we had paid extra for the "riverview".
After a busy day, we joined our friends for dinner and they proceeded to tell us their own horrific and rude conversation with Kourtney. Basically she told our friends that our group did not have any more reserved rooms and there was nothing she could do about it. Then she proceeded to totally flip out on them, screaming and telling them that they had to leave! Although she was busy and had a lot of customers to check in, her response was totally unwarranted. Rooms had been reserved way in advance and the person who reserved the rooms even had an email showing the correspondence between herself and Kourtney. So if there had been a mistake in booking shouldn't she have "tried to make it right"? She didn't even offer to help them find another room somewhere else. Luckily, they were able to find a different accommodation on such short notice.
If we ever have to stay in Astoria again, we will definitely choose different accommodations. Kourtney needs to be reminded of your company policy and maybe some help at the front desk so she won't be so stressed out.

Thank you for taking the time to complete our online survey regarding your recent stay at our hotel.

We were sold out on this day, otherwise we could have accommodated the group for more rooms. We only hold the contract amount of rooms with guaranteed form of payment. This was a very busy time, as I did ask the guests to leave once the negativity started to rise into loud voices, along with being treated poorly in front of my growing guests in lobby. Never would I have a guest leave. It was a heated and unsafe conversation during this time and that does call for leaving the premises. I apologize that you feel as if this was rude. I also apologize that your room was not of what you expected. It is a river view room, directly located on the river of the Columbia. It is first floor, and we cannot not control the city's trimming of the river walk hedges or trees. I wish I could have helped you have a better stay. Booking in advance with a group, we do pre-assign the rooms per the special rates, and if wanting higher floors, we do need a special requests before arrival date.

I hope that you will consider staying with us again so that we can have another chance to provide you with a superior experience.

Sincerely,

Kourtney Scott

We stayed here for the last night of our move with the big truck and we picked it because we'd had good luck with the Comfort Inns and Suites earlier in the trip, they had good rates, and they had a safe, well-lit open parking lot for our 12' truck.

This was by far the biggest room we'd had and cheapest price we'd paid for a hotel the entire trip! The room was very clean, comfy beds, and good service checking in and out. The refrigerator in our room was not working which I didnt realize till the next morning when all of our waters were room temp but thats likely an isolated thing (just check)! We didn't opt for a room with a view but with the location of the hotel I'm sure you would not be disappointed if you opt for the view rooms watching the activity on the river. Good breakfast selection for showing up a little late in the morning. Thank you!

We stayed here for an anniversary trip and picked it because we didn't want to spend much on a hotel room. This place was very nice. Pretty much what we were expecting from a Comfort Suites. The people were nice, the rooms were fine. Not overly nice, but still good. We had a view of the river and that was nice to see out the window.

We were there on a busy day for them, but it did not seem like it was. The woman who checked us in, the front desk manager, was extremely nice. She said that they were short staffed that day, but it was not that visible. The room that we stayed in was a beautiful river view room and we loved it. Great breakfast the next morning. Thank you for our great stay.

Room Tip: I always pick the top floor.
