What a fascinating place (and beautiful architecture)! We loved the mix of personal stories, video, artifacts, life-sized scenes...and the range of topics covered, from fishing to shipping to canning to immigration. The videos of "bar pilots" and their gymnastics getting on and off the ships they're guiding was terrifying - but a perfect way to convey the Columbia's force. Living on the East Coast, we had no idea of the river's important role in so many aspects of life in the northwest until we spend a couple of hours at the Museum.
