We have bypassed this attraction several times and decided this was the year we would do it. I am so glad we did. Excellent displays and educational and informative pieces. A great gift shop and easy to find. Don't pass it up. Very reasonable fee

My wife and I really enjoyed this museum. The museum was very well designed and on the water, just as a maritime museum should be. The historical displays were excellent. The stories of the people involved in this industry, their inventions and their pursuits, were intriguing. I especially enjoyed the films and stories of the river boat pilots. The gift shop prices were so good that I bought my wife a wind breaker so we could walk the streets more comfortably. Astoria can be proud of this museum.

Great displays and photos of what is involved in the "grave yard of the Pacific." Wonderful exhibits of life in one of the roughest waters on the planet. A look into the Coast Guards roll in making distressed boats survive. Actual tour of a light house boat is available and a real eye opener. Well worth the time.

Thanx to others reviews, hubby and i made a point to visit here, and so glad we did! For over two hours we viewed the many marvelous videos, read the many descriptions and found the museum stimulating and full of great info. Neither of us realized how wild the Columbia River can be, and the skilled bar and river pilots dangerous jobs. Just watching the films of "crossing the bar" were enough to make one appreciate the Coast Guard and these pilots.Definitely a wealth of interesting displays to entertain and inform adults and children. A MUST SEE!!!!
