“Surprising awesomeness”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 June 2014

Perched atop a hill, overlooked Astoria, the Columbia, and out to the Pacific, the Astoria Column was a surprise and a wonder to behold. Having heard of the column, I had written it off as a small column on one of the main streets in Astoria. Arriving in Astoria, I learned it was up the hill, but as a the elevation increased, the prospect of what was at the top became more exciting. Rounding the last bend and seeing the land laid out below with the column towering above was not a sight I expected in the small city of Astoria. You may write my surprise off as lack of research, but regardless, it was an amazing sight. The column is ornately decorated with tales of the march westward across the continent and the climb to the top provides another rewarding view of the landscape.

“AMAZING!!!!!”

This is the most amazing view on a clear sunny day. Worth the climb to the top and just think the climb down is a lot easier.

“All about the view”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 May 2014

Great 360 view. Hope for clearer days, but go even if it's socked in. You never know when the clouds may break, and the views are spectacular.
