“Nicely done”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 June 2013

We came across this nice little park by accident while biking along the river, so a stop there was a nice break. The wall contains the names of Astoria folks who worked in several aspects of the maritime business from going to sea, working in the cannery, holding office or working the pier. It is well done with dignity. the park itself is inviting and you have a chance to view the A & M Bridge. Very well landscaped and simple. I can see people just setting there enjoying the good weather....when it infrequently arrives. Look for the Holiday Inn Express and you can't miss it.

“Maritime Memorial”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 May 2013

For those interested in Astoria and maritime history, or who have relatives honored on the wall. Nicely laid out memorial walls and benches with views of the wall and or the river, landscaped, accessible, along the riverwalk and under the Astoria-Megler Bridge. Names on the wall are longshoremen, port commissioners, fishermen, cannery workers, anyone associated with the river and port can have their name put on the wall. On Memorial Day, lots of people bring flowers.

“Tribute to a pillar of Astoria”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 November 2012

Informative video starts the tour - and then the home itself! A look back to a time long gone. Beautifully restored with period pieces, some of which were original Flavel family possessions. Well worth the time.
