We stopped at this park to she the shipwreck and get some pictures. Huge beach, and great photo op at shipwreck. We had fun walking around a bit and taking pics. It looked like there was a lot more to the park, but we only had time for a quick stop.

About 10 miles from Astoria, ft Stevens not only has a section devoted to its military history but it is also situated near the confluence of the Colombia and Pacific. Take the drive out to the jetty to see this amazing sight and there is even a shipwreck on one of the beaches you can see.

Lots of parking lots from which to choose. We favor Pkg Lot D. Expansive beach that feels safe. Lots of people enjoying it. On our day we saw many kite surfers having a kick.

If you want to experience the Oregon coastline while visiting Astoria, this is a great place to go. Easy to get to, very easy to navigate once in the park. We walked on the beach with the shipwreck. Be cautious of the vehicles driving on the beach. They go quite fast. We also went to the observation deck by the jetty to see the sunset. It was neat to see the people clamming below. A fantastic sunset!
