“Cute and cozy”
Reviewed 31 October 2013 via mobile

We found this place online and so glad we did. They were very friendly and the place was clean. We had a very cozy room and a great view. We state on the 2nd floor and it was a little noisy when the bars closed but it didn't bother us any. It's in the perfect location to walk around and shop and eat. When we go back, we will stay here again.

Everything we wanted on a rental car trip down the Oregon coast. Exuding the ambience of Astoria's past glory, affordable, with pleasant staff and with everything well run and working smoothly. The location is central to Astoria and it is easy to imagine staying there after disembarking from a steamer at the turn of the 19th Century.

The Elliott is a great choice for a home base when visiting Astoria. Conveniently located downtown within walking distance of the waterfront and a number of restaurants and spots of interest, with friendly, quality service and comfortable rooms. The complimentary breakfast isn't huge, but it's tasty and filling. I'd definitely stay here again.

From a wonderful staff, beautiful & homey rooms, delicious continental breakfast & a view you will always remember, this a fabulous place to stay in Astoria! Relax atop the rooftop patio with a regional wine from their own wine bar!!! This place will be marked for many trips ahead!

Stayed at the hotel for two nights. From check in to check out the staff was friendly and helpful. Great location in the heart of city. The room, while small, was comfortable and adequately furnished. The bed was extremely comfortable. Great shower. Only shortcomings were that room was warm for a good part of the night, then magically cooled off. The bed lamps, while decorative, provided poor light for reading. The continental breakfasts were excellent, with plenty to eat, if you felt so inclined. The wine bar at night had a good choice of wines, with nice appetizers. Parking was accessible, and to our amazement, free! While the weather was not great all weekend, we did have an opportunity to use the roof deck for a short time. Wonderful views and virtually wind free. All in all, great stay.

Room Tip: Rooms on the west side above the third floor have the best views.

Initially, when phoning the hotel to make our reservation, I was completely thrown back by the rudeness of Beatrice who answered the phone and took my reservation. I nearly called back to cancel. Instead, my daughter and I kept the reservation on this, our first trip to Astoria and the Oregon Coast. When we arrived, we found the hotel to be charming, the check-in girl was pleasant and our room very nice. Room did have a wall which needed some paint, had chips/holes and scuff marks on it which detracted from the cuteness of the room. Nice bathroom with nice toiletries, great shower. Very nice complimentary breakfast. Enjoyed the rooftop patio area. The staff we encountered do seem to have an "air" about them, perhaps because they know this hotel is the best in town. May be in need of some customer service skills/re-training. Overall, would recommend this hotel.

This beautifully restored hotel. Great central location in Astoria. Included breakfast was A+. Beautiful view, and a small fire pit on the roof deck. Nice people.

Plenty of free parking (in September) at the public lot next door. Awesome mid-priced restaurant across the street (T Paul's Supper Club).
