The Hotel Elliott is a small hotel in the heart of Astoria, OR. The front desk staff was courteous and efficient. Our room, a queen bed with a fireplace, was spotlessly clean. The bath and bed linens were top quality and the bed was extremely comfortable and triple-sheeted. The Aveda bath products were appreciated. I will say our room was on the smallish side but included a night stand, desk with chair, and a small refrigerator and microwave. The bath however had ample room and the walk-in shower was quite large. A continental breakfast was included with both hot and cold items. We are looking forward to next stay at the Hotel Elliott.

Room Tip: We happened to be in Astoria during an unusually hot spell in the middle of May. There is no air co...

This was the second time we stayed here in Astoria. Originally found it from recommendations from trip advisor. The owners have updated each room, the lobby and eating area but kept the original wood work! It is priced right, VERY comfortable, VERY clean! The staff are very friendly and helpful.... I highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Astoria, Oregon

Room Tip: If you can afford to splurge, stay in the presidential suite!

My husband and I needed a respite from our busy life, so I took a chance on a hotel in a beach town we don't visit nearly often enough. Astoria, Oregon. The Hotel Elliot was perfect for us. The front desk staff were extremely friendly and accommodating from the call of inquiry and reservation to checkout. This hotel was a perfect choice for us because we could only get away one night, and the hotel was so spectacular that we barely left it. Our room was richly decorated with a large gas fireplace, couches and chairs, flat screen TV and an amazing bathroom. It had heated tile floors and an extra large jetted tub. Amazing bathroom! Onto the rooftop. I can hardly find the words to do it justice. There was a panoramic view of the small city with its sparkling lights. You could see the bay (I think it's a bay) even after dark. It was a spectacular sight. The water was lit by barges and cruise ships (Astoria is a port city). There we're comfy lounging chairs and a fire bowl. I don't know how to describe the fire thing, but you could sit around it and warm your hands. It was unbelievably romantic. We were there in February and it was cold that night. We met some nice people up there and they gave us our turn around the fire and moved to another part of the roof to lounge. In the morning the hot and cold breakfast bar was wonderful. A humble woman was bussing the tables so we left a tip, she saw it and smiled and said thank you. She looked so surprised and pleased so I looked around and saw that many people were not tipping. I'm glad we did, though because it clearly made her day. Pay it forward, folks, at any price the Hotel Elliot is worth every last penny.

The Elliott was built in 1926. The 6 inch wide floor boards, reception desk, and fireplace in the lobby look like they were installed yesterday. The upstairs hallways have 3 inch wide floor boards with a new carpet runner to muffle foot steps. Ceilings are high, with transoms over the room doors. The heated tile floors in the bath are a rare luxury you have to try (the floor temp control is on the bathroom wall). Breakfast is definitely better than average and served rather elegantly. The roof top terrace would be a wonderful place to spend some time on a warm evening. Parking is nearby and there is a nice restaurant right across the street. The hotel is walking distance to everything, including the waterfront trolley.

Room Tip: Even the smallest rooms are adequate, but travelers looking for luxury might want to upgrade to a la...

We just spent a night at this historic hotel. Once off the elevator you felt like you were in an old movie. The room we had provided a fireplace which was an excellent touch, we kept it burning all night long. The rooms was not large but very nice. There were even books on the bookshelf. I loved the heated tile floors. We requested a tour of the hotel and the maintenance man could not have been more accommodating, he showed us all the different levels of rooms. There is even a player piano in the best suite that has access to the rooftop observatory where you can relax and have a fire. Parking can be a problem but we were advised to just park in the front of the hotel as long as we were going to be leaving by 11 AM. So that worked out perfect for us. I would definitely stay in this hotel again.

Room Tip: We had a room that looked out over the front, which was nice but there are rooms that have a view of...

Nice vibe and lovely, comfortable furnishings (they mean it when they say they have comfy beds!). But as a repeat customer, I think they have lost (or are beginning to lose) that special customer service that drew us in to begin with. They need to hire more people like the bartender and maintenance man-friendly and welcoming- true stewards of outstanding customer service!

Stayed here last minute. Our room was the smallest room they had but it was still adequate for two people. There is no parking on site as it is located down town and that sucks if it is pouring down rain. Nice place for couples, wine bar in basement and roof top patio. Would love to stay again sometime. Nice staff, nice touches in room.
