This house stands out and is nearly impossible to miss. The minimal cost of $5 per person is well worth the bit of Astoria history gained along the way. The grand architecture coupled the simplistic functionality of this home make for a delightful tour. It was amazing to see the intricate finish work and just imagine the countless hours of craftsmanship involved. I only wish the attic and basement areas were open for viewing.
Museum volunteers meet you at the front door and provide a great backdrop and perspective on what you are about to see. The tour is self guided throughout the house past this point.
