“A pleasant surprise in Astoria”
Reviewed 27 July 2013

This has to be the best Hampton Inn that I have ever stayed in. It very new and everything has a fresh appearance. Hotel staff was very pleasant. Room was clean and fresh with a wonderfully comfortable bed. We got a river view king room and had a great time looking at the river and the spectacular mountains in the background. Breakfast had a great variety of offerings (even omelets) and was served in a pleasant room. It's hard to beat this hotel at any price.

Family of three (mom, dad, 15-year old son) stayed for one night in July. We had a king suite with a beautiful view of the Columbia River. The room had sliding doors that lead to a large balcony. Our room was spacious, very clean, well situated. Our son slept on the sofa sleeper, which had a very comfortable mattress. We arrived early and were able to check-in immediately. This allowed us to unload our bags before heading to the beach and sites. The hotel is located at the east end of the trolley line and boardwalk. It's an easy walk or bike ride to the Astoria attractions and shops/restaurants located on the river. Also, it is adjacent to Pier 39 with a restaurant, coffee shop, and canning museum. Staff were pleasant. The complimentary breakfast was very good with some nice offerings (waffles, omelet, oatmeal, biscuits and gravy). Coffee and tea are served 24/7. We did not use the pool or fitness center. We would recommend this hotel to anyone and would definitely stay here again.

We just stayed for 6 nights. Our first room assigned was an Ocean View with Balcony and 2 dbls. It was not as big as the picture of this type of room on the hotel website. We spoke with Jessica about this at the front desk. She moved us to a much better room for an extra $30 per night. She was helpful during the entire stay, as was Coleen at the front desk! The breakfast provided was good with many choices. Sumantha is to be commended for her hard work and friendly attitude in keeping it stocked with items at all times. Overall, a good place to stay, right at the end of the Trolly Line and walking distance to Pier 39 and Safeway!

Room Tip: Be careful if you book an Ocean view room with a patio. Many of the rooms have a LIMITED view due t...

We loved it at this hotel. The rooms are beautiful, clean and the view on one side is gorgeous. Staff is friendly and helpful . The continental breakfast was great and varied every day we stayed. great bisquits and gravy! everything you need is there. The little trolly is right outside the door and you can walk to coffee girl and other good restaraunts. Definitely rate this hotel high and recommend it.

This hotel fits the bill very nicely. Do get a river view room. The staff is helpful and everything is new and clean. I do wish for a bit more though.. I wish they would unpaint my balcony door so I can see the river with the door shut. I wish they would rethink the logistics of the in-room coffee set up. I wish they had bicycles( like the CPH does) It's a little ways away from town but you can take the trolley downtown during the day and it's only a $7 taxi ride in the evening. It is certainly worth it for the setting and the close up river views. An OK breakfast is included. I highly recommend this hotel for the view and the value..

Room Tip: if you reserved a river view, balcony room, make sure you have a sliding door (Not a blacked out hin...

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for two nights in July. Hotel appears to be rather new so everything is modern and fresh. Room was very clean and view of river and boats interesting. Good place to stay while visiting this area.

This is a new property and reflects Hilton Hotel's continued efforts to keep their properties modern and contemporary. Located next to a walking trail and the tracks of the Astoria Trolley and the east turning basin along the Columbia River.
The trolley provides a nice ride into downtown and runs on a 45 minute schedule.
The rooms are of a nice size, comfortable and quiet. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
The location is just a tad too far to walk into downtown but it is convenient to a Safeway market.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the Columbia River for view of the river and ships coming and going.
