“Comfortable & convenient hotel in Astoria”
Reviewed 28 June 2014

We stayed here one weekend night, to attend the Astoria Music Festival. The location is on Route 30, at the entrance to town, and a short drive to the downtown area. The hotel appeared to be full, but there was ample parking, and the lobby area was not crowded. The room was clean, adequately sized, with very comfortable bed, as seems usual for Hampton Inns. There were also both a microwave oven and small refrigerator present.

Newer hotel. Close to downtown Astoria and local attractions. Jump on the trolley right outside of the hotel. Beds very comfortable! Free continental breakfast. Lots of variety. Great pool area. They just converted to salt water. We didn't get a chance to use it. Too busy seeing the sights!

Dear kathyg698,
Thank you very much for taking the time to write your review. Yes, we are the newest hotel in town and we are a year and a half old. I am grateful that you enjoyed our free breakfast and that you had a chance to see our indoor salt water pool and jacuzzi. We are approximately 2 miles from the down town area. We are more than grateful to the volunteers drivers who operate the Astoria River Front Trolley for all of our visitors and locals, there really is nothing like it! Thank you for choosing to stay with us here at the Hampton Inn & Suites in the beautiful historical Astoria Oregon!

Sincerely,
Colleen Casper

This recently opened Hamilton is located about a mile out of town right on the Columbia. We had a king room on the riverside which allowed us to watch the river traffic and be awoken by the sound of sea lions in the morning. Room was quiet and had a the usual Hampton comfortable bed and furnishings. The included breakfast was the usual fare you would find at a Hampton. Staff was friendly and helpful. No complaints and felt for the money it was good value.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the river.

Dear ortravelers,
We are so happy that you enjoyed your river view room, while watching the ship traffic go by and being serenaded by the sea lions out back. I am pleased to know that your entire stay was quiet and comfortable. Thank you for your kind compliments about all of our staff and thank you for taking the time to write your review and for choosing to stay with us!

We stayed two nights . We had a room with two queen beds. The room itself was tight for two people and luggage. Nice comfortable beds with good linen. the coffee pot is found under the sink in bathroom. We had to plug it it on the desk. Only one straight chair and office chair at desk.
Helpful service at desk. Good breakfast room, that is open from 6:30 to 10 am. overlooking river. But why no patio furniture for the large patio? Walk to the Rogue at the pier for a drink.
It is on the last trolley stop which is nice. We used the trolley on a Sunday when they had a farmers market in downtown Astoria.

Dear Azulann,
Thank you for taking the time to write your review. We have18 different room types and they vary from standard to studio suites, each are different in sizes. Thank you for the kind compliments about our front desk staff being so helpful and our good breakfast buffet. We do have patio furniture, it is available upon request during the winter and fall seasons. Due to the high winds and rain that sweep thru the coast we do not leave them out during that time period. We put them out ahead of time on all patios during our summer season July and August. It's so nice that you were able to also enjoy our Astoria riverfront trolley that took you down town to our Sunday market. Thanks again for writing your review and for choosing to stay with us.

Kind Regards,
Colleen Casper

This is a very nice, newer property. The only negative is that it is not located within walking distance to downtown Astoria. For the price charged, it was disappointing to have to get in the car to take advantage of Astoria's features.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The accommodations were great. The beds were comfortable and the room clean. The heating/air and television worked great. We stayed in one of the suites and enjoyed the beautiful view. The service was prompt and friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the pool/spa and continental breakfast. We would suggest this hotel to anyone looking for a great place to stay while in Austoria.

Great hotel with wonderful access to Astoria landmarks and activities. The hotel is still "new" feeling. We utilized the pool and exercise room. Both were of good quality. The breakfast was better than we have had at other similarly priced hotels. We would definitely stay at this hotel again.
