“Not for those in flip flops!”

Cathedral Tree Trail
Reviewed 29 June 2013

Even with a map, it was difficult to find the start of the Cathedral Tree Trail. If you are using the trail to try and find the Astoria Column, the route was not well marked. The trail is covered in poisonous plants and was very muddy. I could not get the mud out of my flip flops. The mud moisturized my feet but, as one might imagine, there were many things living in it.

The trail has a few epic sightlines into more trees, but aside from that all you see is forest. It is muddy, miserable, bug-infested, and overly long. Markings run out as you near Astoria Column. We lucked out and chose the right paths. Just keep to the right and keep going up.
