Get on...right in front of the hotel...walk as far as you like. the trolley runs along the same pathway...which is just as fun. Nothing to dislike.

If you have a dog, want to bike or hike, or just want to get around you will enjoy the Astoria Riverwalk. It was rainy when I was there, but it was still a kick to explore the area and meet the tourists who were out and about!

Take an eclectic walk along the Columbia river on the Riverwalk in Astoria. The big box store was in a valuable location. What the last reviewer may not know. The hill across the street from the market as an active slide zone and there was not many other spots for a market. It does provide a valuable service for that end of Astoria. Back to the Riverwalk. You see everything from beauty to industrial. Its just some of the open greenspace in the oldest town west of the Mississippi called Astoria, Oregon. Park your car and walk it. Jump on the trolly for the ride back. Everything you need you will find along the way.

One will meet many on this river walk. This is busy area with the trolley, to the west the canneries, restaurants, cafes, shopping, lodging, motels, port of Astoria; to the east, maritime museum, waterfront properties at Mill Pond. Indurial areas with incredible views, generic big box grocery store occupying very valuable land for its garbage trucks and debris and general ugliness. Not a good neighbor, arrogant and ugly.
One can walk to docks and hear and see the sea lions. Sportsfisherman coming in with
their catch. More lodging, motels, east end pier with brewry coffee shop.
One can park the car for the day.
Be sure and bring your i d to tour coast gaurd vessel. Light ship Columbia is moored off of and part of the museum.
Plenty of free parking.
Sometimes smaller cruise ships moor here.
