This is the only place to stay in Astoria. We stayed here on the last night of our honeymoon, and it was the perfect way to end our trip. The staff was extremely welcoming and when we arrived in our room, they had a complimentary bottle of champagne with a handwritten note saying "Congratulations on your wedding." Our room had a stunning view of the pier. The staff recommended a wonderful Italian restaurant for dinner, and brought us there in their 1956 Cadillac. We felt like royalty. When we returned for the evening they gave us warm chocolate chip cookies and milk to bring back to our room. We had a wonderful stay at the Cannery Pier, and will definitely return.

Cannery Pier Hotel knows how to make your stay memorable. Upon arrival to their beautiful, spacious lobby and welcome area we noticed that wine and cheese were being served to everyone. This light snack in the afternoon was just the beginning. After dropping off our bags in our room we checked out the great view of the Columbia River. Later that night we discovered that you can enjoy this view from practically any place in the room, including the claw-foot tub for two.

We got personalized recommendations for places to eat dinner and menus of local restaurants and then they even took us there. Yes, that is right, we got to ride in the 52 Cadillac out to dinner and with a phone call they picked us up again, for free and with a smile. We couldn't stop grinning!

Upon return from dinner we noticed fresh baked chocolate cookies at the reception as we treated ourselves to dessert. You are starting to get the picture, I think. At Cannery Pier the entire staff makes you feel totally welcome and then surprises you with beautiful bonuses at so many points during your stay that by the time you leave you feel like royalty.

The next morning we took their complimentary cruisers on a short bike ride into downtown along the waterfront trail.

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to be treated like a very special guest. Your room rate covers all these extras and you feel like part of the family!

We stayed on a Friday night. The staff asked if we had anything special going on when I made the reservation, and I mentioned that it was our 4 year anniversary. When we entered our room, there was a card, bottle of champagne, and chocolates/rose petals welcoming us! I can't say enough about the rooms - large, very comfortable, each with its own fireplace, private balcony, and beautiful view of the Columbia River. We stayed in the regular guest room, which was really spacious and nicely decorated. The bathroom was huge, with a soaking tub and separate shower. The hotel was pretty quiet in the evening, which was fine. You really want to have some time to sit and relax with the river views, either in your room or in the comfortable common areas. The sauna and hot tub are open to all guests and it was a very relaxing way to end the day. The hotel has menus for the local restaurants and were very helpful when we asked which ones would be open later. Astoria definitely quiets down after 6ish. They will drive you to your dinner destination in an antique car, if you request, but we didn't do that. The dinner recommendation was also delicious. The location can't be beat - right on the river, and each room has binoculars so you can watch the birds and ships go by. The continental breakfast was pretty good - cereal, fruit, baked goods, make your own waffle. The only suggestion for improvement would be to provide a AAA discount - the hotel says they are not a member. This was a perfect place to stay to celebrate our anniversary and we will definitely return.

Boutique hotels anywhere, let alone the Oregon coast, don't get any better than this. Each room sits right on the river, so close to the shipping channel that you can almost touch the freighters going in out of the mouth of Columbia. The hotel is walking distance from an excellent restaurant (Bridgeport Bistro) or catch the trolley to more great restaurants just blocks away. The hotel also owns two vintage Cadillacs that will take you to dinner and pick you up free of charge. (Ask for Spence. Great guy.) The hotel hosts a wine tasting each night and a continental breakfast in the morning. The staff is great. We stayed in a suite on the fourth floor that had plenty of room with a great bathtub and separate shower. I've stayed in a lot of places on the Oregon coast. There is nothing that even comes close to this.

Room Tip: Room rates drop Sunday thru Thursday.

I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. It is perfect. You see the ships going by right out your window. THe rooms are great. Great bed. There is a microwave and a fridge. Great big TV with sat. THe staff was wonderful and so helpful. There is a business center where i was able to print some docs I needed done and they even faxed them for me. There is a washer and dryer in the building. They even leave detergent there for you to use. We rod the bikes they have available downtown where there is a trail running along river. Big quality brekfast in the mornings. Good coffee in the lobby at all times fruit and cookies also. We would come back here in a heartbeat if we were ever in the area again. Do not hesitate booking this place. DO IT!!!!!

My wife and I have been on a cross country road trip and found this hotel due to it's dog friendly status. While we have found many hotels that claim to be dog friendly, many require the dog to be 20 pounds or less. This place doesn't just pretend to be dog friendly; it is. The staff is wonderful and helpful. The location is quite beautiful, under a reasonable price. It also boasts a spa with great prices.

My mother was celebrating a special birthday so my sister and I flew from Virginia to Oregon to take my mother to the one state she had not been in - Oregon. She has now been in all 50 states and what a way to end with the best which included staying at the Cannery Pier Hotel!
From the time we checked in we were treated so well - a special thanks to Lindsay who suggested certain activities that my mother thoroughly enjoyed. I had also contacted the Danish Maid Bakery and had a birthday cake delivered to the hotel and the staff was kind enough to have it waiting in our room when we checked in.
The ride in the antique cadillac was a thrill and so was the Eco Cruise down the Columbia with Captain Christopher Lloyd - all set up by the hotel.
The view out of the window was spectacular and it was so much fun watching the ships go by. The beds were comfortable and the fireplace was awesome.
The hotel felt more like a bed and breakfast because everyone - the staff and the other patrons - were so friendly.
We highly recommend this hotel even if you aren't celebrating a special milestone in your life.
