We stayed in the Cannery Pier Hotel for one night at the end of October. The hotel is in a stunning location with the layout allowing all of the rooms to be on the River and allowing views of Washington. The reception staff were great and offered ideas of where to go and things to see plus they also have menus for all the towns restaurants and were happy to book a table for us. In addition to this they also had a number of vintage cars that were used to drop you off at around the town. The room was spotless and had a spectacular view of the Columbia River the hotel being built out in the river close to the shipping land. The hotel bathroom had an large shower cubical plus a roll top bath which allowed views out to the river. The complimentary breakfast was far better than we had expected and of a better quality of than the other hotels that we stayed at during our trip.

We experienced this hotel last weekend Dec.8th while my Husband was in training at Camp Rilea with the National Guard. My 2 year old Daughter and I decided to drive down from Portland and meet up with him for the night. Everything about this hotel was awesome I have never experienced Hotel staff going out of their way for you like at this hotel. I swear if you asked politely if someone could go out and wash your car in the parking lot they would. Whoever is running this place let me tell you, you have a wonderful staff. Every time you walked into the front lobby the staff aknowledged you. I walked in the door one night with a gallon of milk for my Daughter and the lady said oh we have milk in the kitchen you could have used. There was complimentary Wine/Cheese tasting each night between 5-6. The spa hostess was there handing out welcome bags. Inside was yummy chocolate mints, pen, paper and some Cuccio Naturale Hydrating moisturizer which is now my favorite moisturizer and I was able to find it on line so I am good to go. Also freshly baked cookies at all X's in the lobby and wherever else they could be. They were very generous with their cookies.
We cannot wait to go back. We had a room with a view of the bridge and it was so pretty at night with all of the lights on the bridge. My Daughter liked watching the seaguls one of them kept coming right up to the room, we saw the Coast Guard go by in the morning along with a huge cargo ship, that was very cool for her to see. The staff here are awesome, they also have beautiful CLEAN cribs for your baby. Not your standard hotel crib, these are really cute. Our bed was awesome, so comfy. You must stay at this hotel, chocolate mints on your pillow at night as well : ) oh ya and I almost forgot what an awesome bath I had in the claw foot bath tub at night and the bathroom had shutter doors that opened up to the room so I could chat with my Husband and Daughter while taking a bath. This was so cool and so memorable. Love this place and whoever is running this Hotel make sure you appreciate your staff because every one of them is doing a great job! Thank you for such a wonderful time you made us feel special.

Room Tip: Choose a room with a view of the bridge, very cool at night.

Personally I love creativity, and the folks who created this small hotel are definitely creative thinkers. The location is amazing, right at the mouth of the Columbia River where it meets the Pacific Ocean. An old cannery has been transformed into a comfortable, hospitable, architecturally interesting hotel with drop dead views from every room. To add to this, they staffed it with the nicest, most helpful people.

The rooms are large and comfortable as are the bathrooms. There is a spa. There is complimentary breakfast. In the afternoon there is complimentary wine and hors d'oeuvres
and since they do not have a restaurant there are vintage cars which will take you to your restaurant of choice in Astoria, about a mile away. When you are ready they will come and take you back to the hotel.

If only all hotels wee this civilized.....

Room Tip: All rooms are the same with the same spectacular views.

I don't even know where to begin with this great hotel. What a gem! From the minute we called and asked about parking our RV (one our way over from Fort Stevens State Park), we were met with friendly and accommodating service. They helped us determine the best place to park it that was secure and out of the way.
We reserved a corner suite that was dog friendly. Dog friendly is an understatement. We walked into the room and found a big snuggly bed filled with a treat basket, doggie treats, a lobster squeaky toy, poopy bags, and two big bowls for food and water. Our dog was in HEAVEN!
The room was beyond spacious with a nice small kitchen, cook-top, refrigerator, pots, pans, dishes, silverware and everything else you need. The bathroom was HUGE with a wonderful large tub (much welcomed after a week of camping).
The bedroom was large with a big comfy bed and great closet space.
The living area had a nice pullout sofa where our 9 year old daughter slept comfortably for 4 nights.
Did I mention the view? Stunning!! Right under the Astoria-Megler Bridge! The ships, barges, tugboats, river bar pilots, were all amazing to watch come and go. We could have sat there for hours watching.
The hotel has these great vintage cars that you can call down to the front desk and arrange a FREEEEE (yes FREE) ride to any restaurant in downtown Astoria. The drivers were all friendly and very informational about the town and it's history. When you are done with dinner the restaurant calls the hotel and the car returns to collect you! Yes, for FREE! Amazing. We felt like rockstars.
There were lovely vintage beach cruiser bikes lined up on the dock for guests to use to roam around town and down the wonderful river walk path along all of Astoria....again free!
In the evening there were warm chocolate chip cookies in the lobby....free.
The hotel itself is very stylish and elegantly designed and decorated. All of the halls are lined with fabulous vintage photographs of the local area, canneries, history, logging and more. It is like staying in a very updated, warm cozy museum.
We are looking for every excuse to travel 16 hours North just to stay in this wonderful hotel!
Wonderful for couples, families, travelers with pets, sophisticated travelers, sightseers and more!

Room Tip: Definitely want a view of the bridge and one of the big tubs!

An unexpected personal trip took us to Astoria and we booked this hotel at the last moment. After a soggy drive down the coast, we arrived to a lovely wine, cheese and appetizer reception in the lobby. Complimentary and so wonderful. Our room was beyond spacious. The bathroom held a claw foot tub which was elevated. A window in the bathroom (which could be closed for privacy) overlooking the room and ocean front beyond was a nice design touch. The was also a nice fireplace which took the chill of the day off. Although the location is slightly away from the downtown core, they have beautifully restored vintage cars which take you into town at your convenience. Request in advance, but take a look at the menu while you are wating and decide where you want to dine. We were surprized to learn Astoria is now a bustling tourist spot. After spending time walking around the downtown area, I can see why. A variety of collectable shops, bakeries, coffee shops and an old theatre, all with a nod to the seafood industry of days past. Although we did not plan on visiting Astoria we will go back again. The staff at the Cannery Pier Hotel was so helpful and truly made every effort to answer all our questions. We will stay at this hotel whenever we can and recommend you do too!

Astoria is a quirky little coastal town. Really, it's an old Oregon fishing village trying to make itself into a fun coastal retail tourist destination. Astoria still has some work to do....but the Cannery Pier Hotel has arrived.

This is the nicest, most romantic hotel destination on the entire Oregon coast.

The rooms are unique in every way. First, none of the rooms face the parking lot or a terrace....ALL the rooms are: Rooms with a view. The beds are spectacular for lounging or loving. The tubs are relaxation waiting to happen. Every appointment in the room is top drawer.

If you are headed to the North Oregon coast....don't miss the bliss at the Cannery Pier Hotel.

Room Tip: They cost a bit more...but get the Suite.
