Charming and lovely hotel. Clean rooms and beautiful views. Our kids loved the pool and sitting on the porch watching the swallows fly around and feed their babies in the nests under the eaves. Love it!

When I booked Indian Lodge, I asked for and received a quiet room in the newer construction that is available. The room was clean, charming, and spacious, with comfortable beds and a hot shower. You do have to wait a few minutes to let the hot water reach you when you shower, but it is a small inconvenience when you are surrounded by such beauty at such a great price. We enjoyed being in the park with the hiking trails and gorgeous views. The restaurant has delicious breakfast, just give yourself a good 45 minutes to order, eat, and pay.

My wife and I have stayed here several times over the years and never disappointed. What's not to like, they have clean and comfortable rooms and very comfortable beds and great restaurant on site.Lots of walking trails and if you are a bird watcher ,you will find it is great for that too.The price for the rooms and the restaurant is very good. This place is operated by the state of Texas and is in a state park and they do a great job.

Room Tip: Be sure to book early as the rooms fill up quickly.

I didn't really know what to expect of the Indian Lodge, but it's a gem... something special. A wonderful old pueblo well run and looked after by the state parks. The rooms are spacious and the beds incredibly comfortable. The setting and natural surroundings are beautiful. I totally recommend it if you find yourself in his part of Texas.

I haven't been to Fort Davis since I was a kid, but it was just as I remembered it. While we were only able to stay one night, it was great!
The staff are so friendly, and helpful; and we had super weather!
Only thing I would do different is to book our room earlier so we could have stayed longer!

My wife made a 2 week around west Texas and this one of the best stops along the way. The rooms were very spacious and the restaurant served delicious meals. Beautiful views to wake up to and it is great to see the wonderful work that still stands that the CCC built. Highly recommend checking out the Indian Lodge and visiting the sites around the area

This was our second stay at Indian Lodge in Davis Mountains State Park within the last year and it was even better than the first stay! We reserved the executive suite room # 121 in the historic section of the hotel. It was lovely--leather sleeper sofa in the living area and two double beds in the bedroom and as always . . . very clean!

The historic section of the lodge was built by the CCC out of adobe bricks and includes pine log & cane vega ceilings along with fireplaces in the pueblo style. Get a top floor room in the old section because with these vega ceilings, whomever is below you will hear the squeaks with every footstep above. It has all the character of the original resort with period furnishings but it also has all the modern conveniences of a modern bathroom, electricity, tv, and A/C when needed. And . . . there is a nice swimming pool and Black Bear Restaurant is good.

Ft. Davis' rainy season is August/September so it is very cool each afternoon (high around 78) after a rain shower and clears up for the night. Plus McDonald Observatory is just up the road and the Marfa Lights are about a 30 minute drive.

Other choice rooms at Indian Lodge are #122 with a king bed and suite #123 with a loveseat in a small sitting area and one double bed in the bedroom.

Great setting in the state park and you get into the park free if you stay at the lodge. Great little trails and nice skyline drive to overlook above the park down into Ft. Davis and Ft. Davis Historic Fort site.

Room Tip: Choose Room #121 for the best room in the house with a comfortable sofa or #123 for comfortable love...
