We have stayed at the Veranda on two occasions, both times felt welcome and well taken care of. It is a historic building and so expect that with your stay. For me, that was the fun part! Lots of old world charm and old world problems but nothing to detract from the overall comfort and enjoyment. The hosts were gracious and accommodating. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. The cook will accommodate dietary needs. This is my go-to-place whenever I think about passing through Fort Davis!

We stayed here when we traveled to Fort Davis to attend a star party at the McDonald Observatory. We needed a place for only one night (Friday)and this was the one of the only b&b that did not require a two night stay that I could find. Great place with historic charm & yummy breakfast. Suite 7 was very nice & had a huge bathroom. Owner was very friendly & ensured we were cared for during our stay!

The Veranda was a great place to stay on my overnight trip to the Observatory. The place was clean and antique but well kept. The shower head was very low (I'm only 5'8" and I had to bend down to get under) and the bed was harder than I like, but nothing that ruined the stay. Breakfast in the morning was great, speaking with the owner/operators. Had a wonderful crepe and freshly made muffins. Easy to find right off the main road, and I even found a good route to knock out a 3 mile run in the morning. Plus, if you're a star watcher, can't beat the dark skies here.

We stayed at the Veranda for three nights while visiting Fort Davis. The Inn is conveniently located. The staff were friendly and quite helpful. The breakfasts are outstanding, served family-style. We met friendly people whom we encountered at other stops on our vacation. Our room was quiet, clean, and comfortable. I had a minor injury while hiking, and they gave us sympathy, an ice pack, and helpful directions for supplies.
We will return to the Veranda when we visit Fort Davis in the future.

I especially liked that the innkeeper served an early breakfast for the racers. The hotel is really comfortable and clean. Much if the hotel was original-looking. It was a real Texas experience . I would be happy to stay there again, and I would have given all 5's if the decor were upgraded a little

We stayed at the Garden Cottage which offers a nice freestanding accommodation with it's own little porch in a nice garden.

Breakfast was cooked fresh daily by a very friendly old lady (actually she's 80+...) and is eaten in a shared setting with other guests.

Fort Davis is a quiet little town. Because it is up on the mountain it is a little cooler than the surrounding desert.

Veranda Inn also features a pet Javelina which is nice if you havent seen them in the wild...

Charming yesteryear place with climbing pink roses at the entrance and a wide beckoning porch. Lovely! And run by hosts who think of everything. We enjoyed it! -sfox ( it is a rather unassuming town with some cute shops.)

Room Tip: Pick rooms away from entrance.
